Hello everybody.

I'm Adan Flyber (yes it's a "n", not a "m"), and some people here have already guess one fact about me: I'm french. So what the hell am I doing here, in an English forum (well english-writing or english-speaking is maybe righter, because there are americans, canadians, australians...). Well, it's just that there is more english-speaking guys (and girls) Pokémon fans in the world, and if I dont betray my dear french fellows, I'm not afraid of coming here, regardless all the mistakes I will probably make in my writing. After all, I will improve my english, and, this is one of the most important thing: I will be FORCED to learn and understand english Pokémon names.

Well, I will stop here this side of the introduction, and I will talk a bit more about Pokémon and me.

(This is the Pokébiography part, you can skip it)
I discovered Pokémon with Pearl and Diamond, on a "multi-card" for DS (you know, those cards where you can put a lot of games). But because it was a multi-card, the game was full of glitches, and I couldn't get out of Mount Coronet after the second badge. Then, a friend lent me Soulsilver, and it was the revelation. He has made a big part of Johto (his next step was to fight Elite Four), so I could explore the whole region, chasing Raikou, having fun in the Pokéathlon, and of course, because I couldn't beat the league (it wasn't MY game, and its owner had to be the first to beat the Indigo guys), fighting, catching pokémons and filling this beautiful Pokédex days after days. One day, I gave my friend his game, and months later, he lent it to me again, and everything was done: Kanto, Johto, 16 badges, and the Elite Four beat 6 times. And it wasn't a problem for me, because I had to try THE challenge: I had to fill his Pokédex. Impossible, of course, but I wanted to do the most I could. Fortunately, at this time, I had two other games lended by another friend: Platinum and Emerald, all completed: with the clone glitch in Emerald, and the simple exchanges with Platinum, the Pokédex filled itself, for my own pleasure.
Then, I gave everything back, except Emerald: the friend who lent me this game is the king of teen who wants to have "the last phone made, the last game released", and Emerald was too "old" and "childish" for him. So I deleted his game and I started my own adventure in it. For dark and mysterious reasons, he took his game back just before I could beat the Elite Four (I had all my badges, and was training my Pokémon), and never give it back, never played it again and never destroyed my game...
So I decided to buy MY own Pokémon Game, and I was doing shopping the day Black and White were released in France: I bought Black, and in less than a month, I did it.

(now, my games-tastes)
Even if I'm, in a way, a kid of Generation IV and V (at least because I started Nintendo DS at 10 or 11, something like this), I bloody love Generation III, and found Emerald ways better than Platinum (and I think I'm not the only one who thinks Hoenn Battle Frontier is the best one).
I like Generation IV, especially HG&SS, wich are my favorite games with Emerald. DPPt are in the 3rd or 4th place (I let empty places, yes, to show how much I (dis)like) but I like them too.

Then arrives GenV... B&W were, for me, acceptable. Despite an horrible region (complètement nulle, i would say in french) and some Pokémons or improvment I don't like, there was a good scenario and an incredible team (the Team Plasma is full of nuances, and sometimes, hearing them, I could say "Yes, you're right."). B2&W2 were too much for me. OK, I didn't play any of those 2 games, but I know enough to say it was "too much": the hybrids Kyurems, the flying boat... Starting in a big city with a gym and a Pokemon Center was a realistic thing, I'm totally OK with that, but the rest... No.
So, here comes Generation VI. OK, I didn't play it (maybe it's just a question of time, though), but there is things wich are REALLY too much in them (Mega-Evolution, Primal-Reversal, Fairy type), and I'm really against that. I'm disgusted when I see the lack of originality in the new Pokémons, but there are good things in the region: 1) It's the northern France! 2) There are A LOT of routes, going in A LOT of directions (it's not like Unys where you had to go from a Gym city to a Gym city from the beginning to the end, without any other road) and 3) There are a lot of Pokémons from other generations, good and realistic thing. But there is still too much for me, and I don't like Generation VI. And if I have expectations for ROSA (make these bloody characters deeper, bon sang), I'm afraid for all the things I won't like in it.

(and finally, my Pokémons tastes)
I love two things in Pokémon: the World and the Pokémons. Then come the scenario and the League challenge. My goal is to fill my Pokédex, and because it never says enough, I like to study some Pokémons by myself, comparing different pokédex descriptions, interprating the shapes, the IVs, the "why-can-they-be-find-here-and-not-there" and how evolution change them...etc. Some would say I'm a very weird guy. Well, yes, i am.
Because I want to fill this bloody Pokédex, I like Pokémons wich can be very different. In my favorites are Eevee and all his evolutions (except the fairy one), the Nidorans, Bayleef (and only Bayleef), Unown, Sableye, Mawile, Buizel and Floatzel, Snivy and his evolutions, Tynamo and evolutions...etc. I don't have a favorite type, but I like Poison, the occult-trio (Dark, Psy and Ghost), Water and Grass.

So, maybe I was a bit long, and maybe some people found horrible mistakes in my writing (I hope not), but I didn't know what to put in that introduction thread, so I answered the most "important" questions coming in my mind. But of course, you can ask questions if you want, no problems for me. ;)

Welcome to BMGƒ, Adan!

I think as long as you get the gist of your message across, you'll be fine. ^^ Nobody here should give you a hard time for that, especially when you're already doing very well with your English.

Kudos to you on completing the Gen 4 Pokédex! I tried my hand at that one as well, but I think I only managed to catch ~400 of them on Diamond. After that, I really had a blast journeying through Johto again in HG. Two regions, two times the fun!

We have some similar views here regarding Gen 5 and Gen 6. I was happy to see that the latter toned it down on the legendaries, but as for Mega Evolution... I guess now that it's been around for awhile I've gotten used to it, even if it still feels like a Digimon ripoff to me. And then for single stage Pokémon like Kangaskhan and Absol, I feel like it would have been nicer if they had gained actual evolutions instead of just megas.

For me, the Fairy-type is an awesome addition to the franchise. I just wish it would have been weak to Ice-types (the poor things have been treated so badly.) >> But I was also happy by how nonlinear Kalos felt in comparison to Unova, like you.

Deeper characters in a Pokémon game is kinda reaching for the stars, at least for the main games. xD; Not to say that I wouldn't enjoy it (I'd love it!), but story and characterizations has never been a main focus for these games. I haven't played any of the Mystery Dungeon games beyond the first one, but I've heard good things about the characters and stories from them. Are you interested in playing any the spin-off games? (I usually throw Colosseum and XD: Gale of Darkness into this category, though Bulbapedia considers them to be in the main series of games.)

Yeeees at all the bold Pokémon, but especially the Eeveelutions, the Nidos, Sableye, and the Tynamo line. <3 I've never used Unown on my team, but I like their place in the Pokémon World and its mythology (the third movie with Entei is among my favorites.)
I wish you luck on your quest to fill your Pokédex once again!
