Anymore computer geeks out there? Our ASUS EeePC has a problem. The screen won't turn on, and the turnoffscreen button doesn't fix it. It also seems that the BIOS software isn't loading, due to there being no little blinky light next to the cylinder. So, can anyone help me, even if it just means that the BIOS or the screen is the prob?

If the BIOS won't even load, it's likely the motherboard. At least...that was the problem I had when MY computer refused to boot. Of course, I found that if I just kept pressing the power button, or held down on it long enough, the thing would groan to life. Though...that only worked for a short time.

That's what I figured. However, this netbook's not even a year old. Got it late October.

That is weird. My desktop was about 5 years old before it had its issue.

Was it behaving any differently before it stopped working? Maybe the fan stopped running or it began loading more slowly? Or did someone drop it or spill something on it? If it's that new my limited PC repair knowledge would draw a blank if nothing at all happened to it prior to it not working. Luckily, I'm sure someone with more knowledge will swoop in and solve the problem.

Completely new. No probs at all.

Send it back to ASUS and get it fixed as it should be under warranty. Also, be sure it is in a place not too cold as my compaq laptop is sort of like that, where it will have similar symptoms in cold temps.

Seems to be fine now. If it happens again, I'll do that.
