BIG Casting Spoilers for X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Will.i.am Appearing

Can anyone say Gambit? How about Deadpool? Not 100% confirmed on either one, but...certainly interesting. The Deadpool one has the most reliable source, but him as Deadpool has been floating around since probably the 90s.

EDIT: Apparently Will.i.am (or however you spell that name) is playing John Wraith, another Weapon X participant (still no word on my Maverick, dammit).

Only been two days since I first posted, but the casting rumors keep coming. Apparently Beak will be in the movie. Because...sure...

So this flick's turning out to be something of an appearance-fest if all these rumors are true. Deadpool makes sense, and I hope if he does appear it'll be a good adaptation of the character. Also, with Weapon X as appearantly the main plot, I'm definetly agreed on Maverick needing to appear.

Wow, those are good castings for those characters! My hype level from this went from ignoring to very curious! This movie looks like it could be pretty cool.

Because if you bitch long and loud enough, dreams do come true: Maverick has been cast. Hopefully this won't be like X3 where you've got a number of really great characters whose sole purpose is just eye candy. I'd prefer fewer characters with more individual development than dozens with no development.

Not Beak, apparently, but a brand new character. Anyway, looking good. Hopefully the characters will be fleshed out, and not just bit players in a Wolvy drama.

But Deadpool makes me go all "". You can't just fucking throw Deadpool into a movie. :/ I mean, you can make him his far, far, far less interesting Ultimate version - but what would be the fun in that? We all want a proper Wadey Wilson, yellow text box, 4th wall breaking Deadpool if he's ever going to hit the big screen - and it shouldn't be as part of this... :/

Also, concerning the glut of character appearances, I believe I'm right in saying this is the same team that handled X3? In which case, it's probably fair to expect these appearences to be under-developed and useless concerning the plot - if not completely hindering it like it did with X3. The third X-men handled the established cast very well - but every single new character was handled like a piece of shit - and this is what let the movie down so far that it practically ruined it.

If this is how X-men Origins is going to wind up, it's not going to be much better, I'm afraid. Even if it does have the leading star as an executive producer.

Someone in the comments on the page that confirms Barnell has a quote or link or something that says it's a new character. Since Beak wouldn't fit into the mythos, I'm more or less inclined to agree with him.

Don't believe so. Jackman's company is producing. Gavin Hood is directing (I'm blanking on X3's director, but I know it wasn't Hood), and I BELIEVE Singer and the X3 director wrote X3, and...someone else (I'd look this up, but...eh, then someone couldn't prove me wrong later) wrote the script. Though, I'm sure, on some level, there's a "throw as many mutants as possible in" directive from somewhere.

Alright, all of the above casting "rumors" have now been confirmed by Marvel.com. Moreover, it IS Beak, NOT a new character. No longer are these reliable rumors, they are now fact (though subject to change as Hollywood is full of whimsy and randomness).
