Hey people of the world, we've seen the screenshots, right?

I noticed that the games are straying less and less from the Bird Eye View. Now the Pokemon Center has that same view-point as that one spot in the Lighthouse, Roark's Gym, and... something that is evading me at the moment, trying to remember... ANYWHO, in these new games, we already know that SOME places will have that view, like the city with huge skyscrapers and the Pokemon Center, but we've seen normal ones, too.

2 Gens ago, i would have loved this. But will this translate well if the 3rd Version is 3d .ect? It seems that as time moves one, this idea becomes worse and worse. This would have bee good for gens I-IV, but GV of all gens... there's already a chance that these games might be in 3D, though very unlikely. Pokemon Grey or whatever the 3rd Version is might be 3D, though.

I have 2 questions for you all: First, is less Bird EYe a good hing? And second, do you think that pokemon will eventually ditch the bird eye view?

1. These games are already 3D. It's just the sprites that are 2D.
2. I think they'll keep the bird's eye view, they'll just lower the bird a little.

Thats not the kind of 3D i mean. I mean 3DS level 3D, like comming out of screen illusion type thing.

I wouldn't mind a lower bird. I hope thats how it shapes.

I like the camera angle they showed. I just hope they raise it a little for when there are things like floor puzzles, strength boulder puzzles etc. Otherwise they'd have to ditch them altogether, which is sad.

I suppose I'm okay with it, though I think they'll need to adjust it based on where you're at, which they've done in the past in Gen. IV.

There are two different camera angles in those screenshots. It make me wonder if they switch between those two at *random* times (like the Lighthouse or the rooftop of that building in Celadon) or there you can manually switch between the camera angles, wich would totally rock.

That would be really cool, iTeruri! Switching camera views, that could make for some awesome floor puzzles requiring you to constantly swith views!

I like the view, can't wait to see more screen shots :) I'm sure that the camera will lower when it comes to floor puzzles.

3D is just a screen feature of the 3DS. It has confirmed that it is indeed backwards compatible with DS games. Therefore DS games put in the DS become 3D. The 3DS just 3Difies whatever you see. The games themselves have NOTHING to do with being 3D. The 3DS essentially takes anything and allows you to see it in 3D. You can turn it off too.

d/p 3d? sure
mario 64 ds 3d? mmmk
nintendogs 3d?? yep

It was never said that it 3DSified DS games. To be affected by the 3DS's 3D capabilities, they need to be 3DS games.

When did they confirm that? And just because they're backwards compatible doesn't mean they'll make DS titles 3D. They didn't allow GBA Titles to go into sleep mode, and that has nothing to do with the game, either.

I still can't wait to see the interior of a Pokemon Center in motion with that epic camera.

Me too, it's gonna look so awesome >:)

Well, I think that the 3-D graphics of Pokemon Black & White may look a bit sharper on the 3DS......

I am so digging the new view! (huzzah, a ryhme!) I can't wait to actually see some gameplay with this. It looks AWSOME.

why would it be a from a birds eye the bird would get tired flying around all time

that..by far! was one of THE most unnecessary posts I have ever read here on Bulbagarden Forums. simply DON'T say anything if you have nothing good or topic related to say.

Like seriously, give your post some thought...wouldnt hurt a bit. :)

Actually, in much earlier posts of mine, I had suggested that they could at least change the camera angle to the point that it appears more 3D-ish and yet not too goofy-lookin' at the same time... and it looks like I was right on the monaaaayyy.:bounce: Not to mention on top of that, it appears they made stuff look more 3D anyways, like those larg skyscrapers, the PokeMart cash registers, and those blue-crystal boulder lookin' things in that cave that they had shown. While on the subject... I wonder what those particular rocks could mean, as far as the plot goes and the location of 'em? Weird, I know... but I wuvs rocks.:awww: I think my favorite examples of the view changes and 3D effects was the battle scene and the bridge. The attack being shown in the battle scene actually looked like it was going in a more forward direction, as compared to the typical left-to-right that we have seen in past games. And the bridge looked like a REAL bridge, with it being suspended properly from the ground 'n whatnot.

Dude, a program doesn't affect how 3D works. It's just a screen effect. ANYTHING put into the 3DS becomes 3D. The screen does ALL the work. It's not the games. Therefore, since it plays DS games, DS games are 3D too(if you want it on).

It was confirmed days ago that the system requires no 3D glasses to see the 3D. This means it's not in the games themselves, it's in the screen. Think Avatar 3D, except you put in nintendogs, now it's 3D since the screen does everything. Not whatever is put in it.

Nintengod, you're assuming that the DS games have the data needed to become 3D.

Yes, it is entirely true that the screen does all the work. However, the screen processes the two slightly different viewpoints to send to your eyes that makes it appear to be in 3D. DS games are made with a single viewpoint in mind, and although it is possible to render 3D using 3D models alone (think Sharp's old gaming PCs- a chip inside did all the work), we don't know if the DS games are compatible with said software. The 2D ones won't be at least. 3D is not a magic spell applied by little wizard ducks under the screen, it's the division of two angles, one in each eye, to make you think you're seeing a single three dimensional image, simulating the real distance between our eyes and creating an illusion of depth perception. The screen, if it IS Sharp's, simply divides each pixel into two pixels, one for each eye, and transmits it into each eye specifically. But... that doesn't change the fact that DS games are not made to be split into two different images. Putting the same image on both screens simply gives each eyes the same image, which would just come across as distorted 2D.

The rocks are floating, possibly magnetic. Notice the electric sparks around the large boulders.
