Will there be a Beta for Black and White released to the public? If so when? Just a simple question I will close it after the question is answered and if nobody continues discussing it.

There are going to be demos up in August in Japan...but I doubt we'll get a beta version released outside of that via DSi if that's what you mean.

What would it contain basically? I have no recollection of one for DP because I didn't learn about them till right before their Japanese release. Can anyone give me a video for a beta of, any of the main series games Gen III and onwards?

The above post. And the fact that I think the game has left the beta stages already. I don't have the adequate means to compare what I think changed, but I'll try and I'll get back to you.

Based on his poll options, I'm pretty sure he's wondering if a playable demo will pop up. And one will in August irc.

Early DP ones revealed Roserade and Kricketot and allowed the player to walk around...I think, Jubilife...and battle a bit with Lucario, Buizel, and I think Pachirisu too.

The first DP demo occured in July 2006.

Anyway, I think it has left the beta stages, and there is only one thing I could compare. The pokecenter in the city.

The left is from the first vid we got of the city. The second one is the later vid shown on the official site. It has clearly changed since then.

Notice how the window colours are black and white? Perhaps they're of the two different versions!

Yes, there will be a beta version of the game until the final version is released (like the screenshots provided earlier).

Yes there will be a "beta" it is in fact what we are seeing now.

No there will not be an open beta. There will be game demos in Japan before release. Nothing in english

there are other noticeable changes like markings on the ground, also, the power is not out cos the tv thing is on

From what I remember of the original demos, nothing changes between it and the final version other than they purposely block off access to certain things.

Ok so what about a Closed Beta shown to the public releasing more useful footage then we have now.

An Open beta would be a good idea, but it won't happen. Here is why:

1. It would have to be multiplayer probably. Even though gamers could test it, it is also asking for hackers and pirates, as they will attempt to cheat at the beta along with trying to reverse engineer the games before the release so they can crack any drm in the game (like in hgss).

2. Usually companies have closed beta player tests. However, they can't uncover multi step glitches (missingno, mew, cloning, etc.) or glitches that somehow slip by (tweaking, the door glitch in green, etc.). Real players do, post youtube vids, and then they get patched in later gen releases or newer copies of the game cards.

3. Companies usually show the press the games before release, release trailers, and make huge announcements at game expos. At one point, the press will get to play the new pokemon games early.

Thanks, the general consensus was no and I have an established opinion the same as yours. The next question is how soon will further trailers, more HUGE announcements and press demos come along? July CoroCoro? As for the multimedia and demos will it be like two weeks before the game or something?

The demos will probably be leading up to the b&w release. Same with the video footage (PokeSunday) and screenshots (corocoro, various game magazines).
However, with pokemon, devolepement is mostly closed, so you will see more footage of the US version before release released to public before the release then of the japanese version before release of it. By then, there will be a billion grainy early gameplay videos recorded of the japanese version, and possibly more in emulators.

We've already seen Beta images anyways. The very first image of Hiun City showed the Pokemon Center Building being taller than it is now.

Maybe they are different times of day, and in the first the sun is behind the buildings, and the second it is in front.

No, as in the structure of the buildings is also different. Look at the two pictures again. The buildings look nothing alike.
