Black Rayquaza to appear in Pokémon UNITE's Theia Sky Ruins from December 5th-16th — Special Black Rayquaza items will also be available

To celebrate the "Shiny Rayquaza Appears" campaign for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Black Rayquaza will appear in the Theia Sky Ruins in Pokémon UNITE from Thursday, December 5th to Thursday, January 16th. Black Rayquaza will appear in the final two minutes before the end of the battle.

In addition, special Black Rayquaza items will also be available! Players who make use of the prize machine during the event period, will be guaranteed to receive a Black Rayquaza face cap.

Wait there's a key piece of information missing! This isn't a new event, it's occurred before! In February and March of this very year! I think the cap and items are new.

Knowing the event isn't new also gives some additional context on the nature of Rayquaza. It's entirely cosmetic, and replacing base Rayquaza in all instances of Theia Sky Ruins. All means all, so Rayquaza's background cameo and icon get swapped too for the duration. It even applies to the Practice Area.
