Well, that was painful.

Sorry for the wait everyone. We did have a few suggestions that were good during the past few weeks, but with all of them, either
a) A leak came out revealing that info before we even saw the suggestion
or
b) There just wasn't enough possible plausible answers

One thing that did get suggested a lot was number of Pokémon, or number of Pokémon of a specific type. Neither worked really well, since we needed something that had hundreds of possible solutions, and realistically there's not 400 plausible options for either. For specific types, there's more like 20 plausible options for each.

...which got us thinking. 20 plausible options for each type, but if you're looking at multiple different types, say 3 types...20x20x20...that's 8000 plausible combinations there.

So, what we'd like you to guess this time are the number of new Pokémon each for the Grass, Fire and Water types. Closest person to the exact number for each wins.

As always, we need tie-breakers, we'll let you know how we're going to work things out later. If for whatever reason multiple people have identical answers, the first person to post that answer without later changing their mind trumps everyone else.

This final contest will remain open up until the start of September, when the first hint guides for this game start to come out prior to the release. In the event of a ROM leak and the possibility of people ripping the info from that, all entries after the data of that leak will be invalidated.

For the number of grass-types, I say 9.

As for the fire, 13 Pokemon.

And I'll guess 17 for water.

This is my guess.

Grass: 13 new Pokemon- Well I see it like this 3 for for the staters, and 7 for various different types with grass and 3 pure grass

Fire: 12 new Pokemon- 3 for the starters, 1 for hihidaurama, 5 for dual types, and finally 3 more for pure fire types.

Water: 9 new Pokemon- 3 for the starters, 4 for dual typed water Pokemon, and 2 pure water types.

I know, I know, it's like they are rebooting the series but since you can trade over Pokemon, you really don't need that many new water types anyway since we have more than enough. Plus more grass types and fire types is always a plus.

Edit: Hold on, one question. Do the revealed fire, water, and grass type Pokemon count in this speculation. If I made a huge error I really apologize in which case my guess is:

Grass: 10
Fire: 8
Water: 6

Which is just subtracting the confirmed Pokemon (even the starter's evolutions which should be confirmed).
 
I say 16 grass types, 14 fire types and 23 water types.

I'm hoping for a bunch of new 'mons. :D

15 new grass - because they always need something going around in the tall grass

16 new water - because tentacool and cruel are so last year :D

12 new fire - Fire has always been the rarest
 
I guess I'll try one more time. I have even less of a chance being right on this than the others I tried.

Grass: 12
Fire: 12
Water: 12

This disregards whether there's a second type or not. I won't spell out my reasoning since I don't want to jinx it.

fire will have 19 new pokes.
water will have 31 new pokes.

15 Grass Types (In addition to the definite 3 of a starter Pokemon, I think there will be a lot of them)

13 Fire Types (I think more Fire Pokemon will make its appearance, in addition to the 5 of them revealed)

16 Water Types (The abundant of the types will be the most introduced, but not too much)
