For the fifth of our speculation contests, we have one for you that might be just pure luck. What we'd like for you all to guess at this week are the gym types.
Ever since the first games, each region has always had 8 gyms. We're assuming that'll be the same case here, but what those gyms will be themed around...who knows.
For the record, assuming there are 8 gyms, that each gym is themed around a type, that no type repeats, and that there are no new types, then there are a whopping 980179200 possible combinations of 8 gyms.
Since it's quite possible that we could get a number of people tied for the most number of gyms correct, while each having different answers, here's how we're going to work this one. What we want you to do is not only guess the correct types of the gyms, but also to have a shot at getting the order right as well. Your answer must list the gyms in the order you think they will be in-game.
How it'll work is a points based system. First off, we'll take all the people who've gotten the most number of gym types right. Then, we'll start to score people on a series of scales, eliminating people after each "round" of scoring. The criteria for those "rounds" will be
- Correct absolute position in the order of each gym
- Number of sequential correct gyms
- Earliest sequence (ie. 1-2-3 beats 2-3-4)
- Relative position of remaining correct gyms to the sequence (ie. 1-2-3-5 would beat 1-2-3-6)
If we still need more tiebreakers after that, we'll let you know. ^^;;;; We probably wouldn't need to go beyond the 2nd or 3rd round however, at most. As always, if for whatever reason multiple people have identical answers, the first person to post that answer without later changing their mind trumps everyone else.
To clarify further, since so many people have been doing it in the earlier contests...
You can not make multiple guesses in one post. If you're starting to say things like this OR this, YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG. If you're offering multiple possibilities for the same Gym theme in the same post, YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG.

This thread will be closed in a weeks time for our 6th speculation contest. In the event that the information is leaked or announced before the end of that period, the thread will be closed immediately, and the closest guess before that will win. Otherwise, the winner will be decided when we actually find out what will be in the games.
