This is the world of Ereas, where Blades of the North takes place. There are five nations; Glacia, in the north, ruled by Queen Gloria; Beheren, in the west, ruled by a federation; Natei, in the east, ruled by Emperor Saelus; Cesria, the largest nation, ruled by Warrior-King Erevus; and Whiteland, a conglomerate of island nations ruled by a unifying council of fifteen people.
Glacia is a cold country, between it's positioning so far north and its mountainous terrain. Many Ice-type Pokemon roam freely here, as do many other mountain- and cave-dwelling creatures. Most transportation is done with Ponyta, not only for convenience, but because woe betide any poor soul who finds himself in a thicket of Snover or, Arceus forbid, Abomasnow, and doesn't have a powerful flame ready.
Glacia has many castled situated throughout the mountains, with the Crystal Castle, a castle made out of the body of a Regice in ancient times, housing Queen Gloria between the two main mountain ranges. The Crystal Castle has since been added too with more traditional materials, but the Queen's bedchambers still reside deep within the frozen wing as a symbol of her status; she will suffer before her people do.
Glacia's bound weapons are tiered to squire, knight, and lord. They also have men-at-arms at every castle to augment the powerful destructive potential of even a small force of knights.
Beheren, on the other hand, is a medium-sized country mostly comprised of desert, though the coast and the south are very fertile. There are many wandering tribes throughout Beheren, most travelling by foot at night, with Numel as pack animals. They are a careful people, as there is no worse fate in the desert than wandering onto a Hippowdon's territory.
There are few permanent settlements in the desert regions of Beheren, but the capitol city is located in a mountain basin where there is an oasis. Deep in the desert, there is also a shrine to Regirock, who supposedly roams the desert.
Beheren does not restrict its bound weapons; anyone may use any of them. However, those who use bound weapons must serve in the military.
Natei is a large, fertile peninsula in the east. It is home to many varieties of Pokemon. There are hundreds of small settlements scattered across the land, and Emperor Saelus's seat of power is in the south, in the capitol city. Beneath the palace is a shrine to Registeel, who was supposedly tamed by the first Emperor to fight off invaders. Travelling across Natei is easy with creatures like Blitzle to ride.
Natei is unique in that it has two separate tierings of bound weapons. The first is trainee-knight-lord, like Glacia. The second is Rogue-Shadow-Assassin; Natei has a force of spies and assassins that it employs.
Cesria is a large country with mountains, plains, swamps, and many more terrain features. There are innumerable settlements across it. The capitol city is Sijn, on the southern peninsula. Cesrian people used tame raptors or Arcanine to travel.
All Cesrian people must serve in the military for at least four years. Most have bound weapons of their own; while, in the Cesrian system, a person may be ranked at a mere trainee level, they may be equal or even above the skill of a Glacian knight.
Whiteland's many islands are rocky and barren; they live off of raiding. Their forces have no strict hierarchy except interpersonal respect for one's achievements. Travel is done by boat or riding swimming Pokemon.

"Bound" weapons are weapons that have slain Pokemon sealed within them. The weapons are made with a special ore, and the first Pokemon felled by the weapon is trapped inside. The powers of that Pokemon may then be called upon by the wielder of the weapon; however, it is incredibly hard to use techniques in the heat of battle, as the process behind them is so alien to human minds.
In Glacia, Cesria, and Natei, not all bound weapons may be used by any warrior; stronger Pokemon in weapons require a higher rank.
The Pokemon sealed in bound weapons can evolve, over time; the same conditions apply as their living forms. This is how many high-level weapons for Lords were created.
