Just looking through Bulbapedia and I found this:

Apologies with the size, I couldn't find a bigger picture.
Anyway, I just noticed something about Blastoise's cannons. If you look carefully, you can see that the white part(nozzle) is seperated from Blastoise's flesh(the blue part).
In my opinion, that nozzle is actually an artifical construct given to Blastoise to concentrate its water. I don't think Blastoise recieves it in the process of evolution but is instead bought, maybe from a Pokemart.
What I'd really like to see is a drawing of Blastoise without the nozzle. Thoughts?

Interestign idea.

One has to wonder, though. Would such an artificial construct really work out?

If they're bought then how would wild Blastoise have them?
Do we see wild Blastoise?

Maybe it's a nozzle-like boney structure.
Yeah, that would make more sense actually. But it looks so darn artificial!

By the way, do any of you have thoughts about how big Blastoise should be? I usually disregard the pokedex and go with my own imagination. That's why in my opinion, Blastoise=semitrailer.

I believe it was called Beach Blankout Blastoise, Kasumi and I think it was during the
Kanto season right before Ash battled with Blaine. I could be wrong.

Maybe one could think of the entire shell of Blastoise as 'armor' and each casing varies
upon the backs of different Blastoise. But in no way do I think these cannons are
removable. It just seems odd to have an attachment of some sort hewn directly to a biological structure.

"Guess what, my Wartortle just evolved, dad!"
"Well son, we will have to go out to the PokeMart today to buy it some brand new cannons! Top of the brand they are!"
...
"Okay, stand still Blastoise, we are just going to stab these into your body, use some of that blue cement to connect them to where your water comes out, then you will have to wait an hour and you'll be set to go!"

Seriously...

The pipes are probably bone or something, just shaped as a pipe to get out the maximum amount of water. Evolution gives Pokemon a lot of things.

i believe that in Pokemon Steium 1 or 2, that when blatoise is released from the poke ball, that his cannons are inside and come out as he is making some kinda a gesture similear to scratching his butt. but perhaps some thought would might go into altering his type characteristics as being Water/Steel due to the cannons, that would make him near invulneralbe.

Hah, I got shot down majorly. :)
So aside from the cannons, is there anything else to be discussed about Blastoise?

what I find wierd about his cannons, is that he can pull them in, then close the part of the shell they're in

Well Blastoise are turtles and turtles can put their legs and heads in their shells so I guess Blastoise do the same thing with their cannons.

And if indeed Blastoise's Cannons are a bone like matter, then they can be
easily retracted and extened similarly as a cat does with its own claws. Am I right?
