Contest Blaziken vs. Infernape

I'm not stealing Envoy's idea he told me I could make this thread.

So, now it's time to pit the two Fire-Fighting starters against eachother.

In this corner, we have the original fire fighting type, whose evolutionary line is based off of chickens, giving it access to moves such as Peck and Brave Bird. High offensive stats on both sides and a good move pool are advantages, but it's average speed and poor defenses hold it back.

In this corner, we have Sinnoh's fire fighting type, whose line is (pretty obviously) based off of monkeys and apes. Infernape has a supirior movepool to Blaziken, and although it has lower offensive stats, it has the speed to actually use its attacks before it faints, as Inferape too posseses paper thin deffenses.

So, who would win in a 1v1 fight, who looks more awesome, and whatever else you can think of. I've seen these forums at work, you guys are pretty creative.

For me, deffinately Blaziken. It could easily shoot of a brave bird and OHKO Infernape. And it looks EPIC.

I love Blaziken myself and I would have voted fer it except... Infernape basically overpowers it. All Blaziken really has over the ape is Brave Bird.

And looks, imo blaziken does look better.
 
Have would have Blaziken Learn: Rock Slide, Brave Bird, Aerial Ace, and Dig. And Blaziken I think would be to better of the two

Infernape gets a lot of hate for recycling Blaziken's type combination. But personally, I prefer Infernape's design, and when it comes to battling, Infernape is superior. Nothing's wrong with Blaziken, though.
 
Blaziken.

While Infernape is better in battle, Blaziken is not to be underestimated. It was overused in ADV despite its obvious drawbacks and it is still one of the best Pokemon in UU.

Blaziken is also the first Fire/Fighting Pokemon. I think it looks way cooler than Infernape.

Did Infernape have a Signature Move at any point? No, it didn't. Blaze Kick is one badass move.
 
I love them both, design wise. Infernape being based on the monkey king. Reminds me of that monkey kung fu. While Blaziken's mysterious look (which is obviously a chicken). But still Blaziken reminds me of Kick boxers.

Infernape is faster but Blaziken is definitely more painful =))
Ugh, I can't decide. I choose Blaziken, just for being the pioneer of this awesomeness.
 
My starter of choice in Hoenn is Torchic, and I am happy with it and its evolutions, whose extra Fighting-type in the evolutions gave me the chills. Blaziken would always be my choice as a matter of fact.

When I looked at the tiers of Pokemon, I am actually sad to learn that Blaziken is outclassed by Infernape, which is one of the reasons to dislike Infernape: he puts a great Pokemon out of order by being more useful, and Blaziken does not get anything unique to make it stand out from the ape. I understand that the chicken gets Agility, Brave Bird, Baton Pass and greater attack stats, but in the end, Infernape wins this part by having greater speed, Nasty Plot, Close Combat, and the standard moves for Generation 4 starters Stealth Rock and Grass Knot. Quite unfair if you ask me.

Well, here's hoping the chicken gets more love even then, and the stats here currently shows 9 people rooting Blaziken over the 4 who chose Infernape.
 
Blaziken any day. It was once crossed with Latias, but that's not the main reason.
 
It's my favourite Pokemon, so of course I am going to be biased and say Blaziken. It was the original Fire/ Fighting starter, always will be.

But hey, Infernape is cool too :)
 
Infernape, because it has better offensive stats, and has access to a few more moves than Blaziken.

That's actually incorrect, Infernape has base 104 in both attacking stats while Blaziken has base 120 attack and base 110 special attack.
 
I hate Infernape, its an overused Skank of a thing. I hold grudges against it. I'm going with Blaziken, because Brave bird is cool.
 
Hard choice, I love to use both and they both rekindled my liking of the fire type. Overall both have pretty decent moves they can learn, and both look pretty awesome. Eh I guess I'll go with Infernape because I prefer the design a little more than Blaziken.
 
Blaziken,no particular reason. I like both,but Blaziken has more power.

blaziken is one of my least favourites starters.
im not big fan of infernape, but it looks better.

Hey, it's this thread! I was gonna do these guys last, so I guess it's probably for the best if you did it instead.

Infernape is by far my least favorite Starter. Actually, Infernape is currently my least favorite Pokemon.

Conversely, Blaziken is my favorite Fire Starter and one of my all time favorite Hoenn Pokemon (Sceptile, Milotic, Salamence and Metagross rounding out the top five)

Also, Blaziken looks like a BAMF. Infernape looks like it's head is on fire.

So, Blaziken, even if the monkey outclasses it.

I referring to it's Speed, which is one of it's greatest assets.
 
Both have grown on me me, so I can't decide for one that easily. Although I reecognize Blaziken being the most original for being the first one of its typing and having a signature move, since I skipped Gen III, I feel more bonded to Infernape than to Blaziken (plus I'm a Son Gokuu fan, both the Chinese original and Toriyama's saiya), so my vote goes for the flaming moe-nkey.
 
Wasn't there a thread for the exact same question a while ago? Oh well.

I vastly prefer Blaziken over Infenape. Blaziken is my favorite starter evolution. It has an amazing move pool. It's able to learn Brave Bird and Flare Blitz as well as it's signature move, Blaze Kick. Which makes Blaziken an instant badass.

I have nothing against Infernape except for the fact that it riped-off Blaziken's typing...
