Blue and red are the game counterparts of Gary and Ash but will they be included in Gen4? Or will they do a Firered Leaf green on it and do an almost compleate remake of gold and silver? They should change their names.
 
Choose your words carefully. No one likes Ash and gary being compared to Red and Blue.

1, they are, but Anime charcters are NEVER in games, except in Yellow (JJ&M, Pikachu, Eevee, etc.)

2. Of corse red and blue will be in HGSS as it is a remake of GS.
 
Going to say this again... there has been no official confirmation of Kanto in HG/SS yet. Just a strong suggestion from the map illustration. Those things could have very well been for the sake of the illustration. I'm still surpised Serebii went and "confirmed" it without the official word... unless he knows something we don't.

There is still the possibility Blue will not be in the game.

He knows that if Game Freak took such a vital part of the games out, they wouldn't tease fans with such blatant hints that it has been kept in tact. You seem to think that Kanto would be too much for the DS games to handle in light of DPPt settling for one region and an island, but how would it be more sensible for HGSS, which are being released three years after DP, to make do with an even smaller region than Sinnoh?

The official web site has confirmed that Red will retain his name.
 
I think it might be Red and Green this time. Based off of FRLG, ya know.

And as for Kanto... what more confirmation do you people need? The route leading to Viridian City is on the map. Why on Earth would that route be there if Viridian City did not exist!?

Wait, what was one of the default names for the rival in FRLG? Was is Green, or Blue? That'll probably detirmine which name they use.
 
I though it was Green myself... hold on.

Bulbapedia confirms it. Name was Green since Red is Red.

Thanks. Then yeah, they'll probably go with Green. I think they said that HGSS is a direct sequel to FRLG (makes sense), so they'll probably use green.
 
Ah well, it's only a slight name change that I can get used to.

I don't even see why they went with LeafGreen though. I mean, it sounds better than WaterBlue, but I can't see why they changed it. I guess they were modeling it after the original Red and Green, as opposed to Red and Blue, but Green was Japanese only, so...

Pokemon is Japanese
Green was an original Japanese game
Blue was the third version in Japan
remakes don't include third version
hence, we get remakes of the original originals.

Yeah, but since Green was Japanese only, it would make more sense to keep intact what the entire world knows. I mean, I don't even think that there were many major changes between R & G and R & B, so I don't see why they modeled after R&G. I guess Nintendo will be weird like that.
 
Hm. They might change it to Green, then. On the one hand, it'd be "out of continuity" with the English releases, but it'd bring everything back to the Japanese releases. Now, if only we could get them calling Leaf Blue, it'd all come together.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if they changed it to Green since apparently some of the newer fans don't even know the true origin of Lugia, and the older fans are already aware of the whole Red/Green mix-up.

But honestly, can we drop topics speculating whether something that was in the original games that they are remaking will be in their remakes?

Its so annoying how some people seem to be more concerned over confirmation over whether Kanto is in it or not when we know it is, rather than anything about the Johto portion.

Its because of the whole Kris issue considering everyone's half assed theory that because the game is not crystal, she isn't in. Now we've got millions of people wondering if Suicune's story, Eusine, Battle Tower, or anything else will get removed because the fans just shoved that theory down everyone's throat as if it was the truth, when in all honesty, they dont know shit bout why they did the redesign. And to further pervert this myth, the bulbapedia page about the character is being used as fact that its "someone other than Kris".

Pokemon fans...I swear. Its as bad as the "Sonic = DBZ" shit that people had to put up with due to a few sonic 2 similarities.
