Was having a think today about this issue, and thought I'd put it to you guys... watching the Galactic episodes the other day with Dokurog, I started to think about it's weird colouration that was unusual but actually (in my opinion) made it actually look better. Then in BW, the same thing happened with Crimgan. Why do you think some blue Pokémon are recoloured teal when others (namely Gureggru) are left alone?

either its cutting corners or the artist are just too lazy to be consistant

What? I don't see how using a slightly different shade of a color is "cutting corners"; that would require making things teal to somehow cost less than making them blue, which is really unlikely. And it's not inconsistent as long as any given Pokemon remains the same color throughout its appearances in the anime (Jynx aside).

I've never ever noticed it, but I guess that the only reason they would do so outside of errors is because Teal is a more mild color and it will scare the children less.
Per example, at Crimgan's/Druddigon's debut, it was dark blue, and it had the "rampage" role of the episode.
When it's going to appear for a single minute, though, only to get beaten by an Eevee and his cards of twisted fate, it should at least not scare kids right within the "action".

Sounds a bit too far, right? May just be drawing errors.

That's nothing. The old Kanto episodes had lots of colour inconsistency. Misty's shirt went from yellow to blue once.

It could be because both Toxicroak and Druddigon are primarily blue with red features. In animation, blue objects juxtaposed with red are often coloured blue-green, as red contrasts with blue-green in a more distinctive way than it does with blue.
