Since April of this year, CartoonNetwork's Boomerang branch has aired episodes from the Johto Saga, starting with Season 3, the Johto Journeys; and then followed directly after by Johto League Champions. Once they conclude Season 4 in the cycle, Boomerang will begin airing episodes of Master Quest, the final full season of the Johto saga. The first episode of Season 5, Around the Whirlpool, is scheduled to air on Tuesday, August 31st.

Makes me wonder if they plan on continuing into Hoenn afterward or not.

I realize the only reason they're airing Johto eps is because of HGSS, but they should continue airing all the older eps.

Cool, I've never seen any of the Johto anime, and its my favorite region so this should be cool. I always liked the older anime anyway.

This is now getting notice? It's been going on for the longest while.

This is why Boomerang is, to put it simply, "the shit."

You know that's great and all, but if you folks want to catch up on older episodes, they're almost too easy to find on the web. If you've got a stable Internet connection that is already being paid for, I say don't bother with ordering the service.

Actually most popular NA cable providers already have Boomerang, so there's no need to order anything.

If it's included in your package.

For instance, my current level doesn't include it. I've got Time Warner cable. If I want Boomerang, I'd either need to call to get it specifically or pay more every month for a package of channels that include it. Oddly enough, I still get a bunch of other stuff, like G4.

But more to the point, my post was addressing the fact that not only are they on the Internet, they're free, you can watch 'em at your leisure, speed through the bad ones or skip them altogether, and still have a pleasurable experience.

Then you don't have any reason to talk about them on Bulbagarden.

On-topic, does anyone know how many seasons of the show Boomerang has the rights to air? Do they still air Seasons 1-4? How about Chronicles? The movies?

Technically, they probably have the rights to everything that CN has the rights to, seeing as Boomerang's owned by Cartoon Network and all. It probably depends on what CN still considers recent enough to air on their main channel - do they still air Battle Frontier?

Not once did I link them or tell anyone where they could go to watch. So I'll talk about how its easier and more convenient to watch them via the web just fine, thank you.

They only began with the middle of the Orange Islands. I believe it was the one with Aiden and Wartortole. We still don't know if they're going to continue into the Advanced Generation, and if they do, into Diamond & Pearl. They only air the episodes once every weekday.

How about Chronicles? The movies?

No and no.

Yes!
Now I don't have the worry of boomerang canceling out after machoke machoke man episode.
August 31 MasterQuest :D
I never got to watch master quest episodes on TV.
I wonder if it will go on to hoenn.

No. This is a thread to talk about the TV show airing on Boomerang, not for you to brag about how you watch the show illegally. Take that shit somewhere else.

If you bring it up again, you will receive an infraction for making off-topic posts.

You'd think that would be the case, but not necessarily. Contracts for TV shows tend to only cover one network, so any additional networks that want to air a show (in this case, Boomerang) would have to write up a new contract.

You don't see Diamond & Pearl on Boomerang and Johto Journies on Cartoon Network because the networks don't want to show them; it's because they don't have the rights.

Man, what. What bragging? How were any of my posts about bragging till our little mishmash?

Well, I suppose I'll take it back. Trying to watch some clips of the show on Cartoon Network's site doesn't work, as they're apparently borked or my connection doesn't want to work, so perhap watching them on your TV is the proper way to go without the fuss or muss.

If that's working for you, just say something.

Aww, this news makes me sad... ;_;

I really wanted to see those Johto Journeys and Johto League Champions episodes!! :-(

I wish my parents could afford to get Boomerang. Unfortunately, money is tight for us right now. Which means by the time I even get Boomerang, they'll probably be airing Master Quest (and I own both the Master Quest boxsets, by the way, so I've seen those episodes a lot).

It just isn't fair. I was really hoping Boomerang would repeat the Johto Journeys and Johto League Champions seasons (at least until I got Boomerang). I mean, I haven't seen the Johto Journeys and Johto League Champions seasons in their entirety for a long time. In fact, I haven't seen those seasons since KidsWB last aired them. And that was a long time ago. =(

Man, I really wish there was a legal way I could see those Johto seasons. It's too bad Viz won't release any more of the old seasons on DVD. We need to get answers from Viz, Pokemon USA, or someone on this issue. Isn't there someone who will talk to us about the situation? :-(
