So here I am, admiring my new Froslass, and thinking to myself how much I disliked (okay, maybe outright hated) Glalie in Gen III. It got me to thinking, what's everyone else's opinion on any of the [bp=List of Pokémon with branched evolutions]branch-evolution Pokémon[/bp] there are? I know everyone has a favorite Eeveelution, but what of others, Dustox and Beautifly, Bellossom and Vileplume, any of them?

I really like branched Evolutions. My only gripe is that in the case of Gloom's, Poliwhirl's, Slowpoke's, and even Tyrogue's, there's always one that's clearly superior to the other(s). And sadly, it's the one that looks worse in my opinion. I only prefer Poliwrath over Politoed. For all others I prefer their new add-ons.

I'm glad D/P's alternatives did a much better job at making them shine in the same light or even above the single final Stage, much like Eevee's evolutions have always done.

Out of the two-alternatives ones, my favorites have to be Bellossom (My favorite Pokémon of them all too. :3), Poliwrath (Like the buff.), Slowking (Regal and smart, unlike the 'Bro. XD) and Gardevoir (Gallade is cool, but Gardy is just too beautiful and cool for me. :3). I like Glalie and Frosslass about the same. But the latter has a cool Type Combo, so she gets some more points. :-D

For the most part, I like branched evolutions.

They're nice in that if you don't like one option, you have something else to choose from, which is always a good thing, IMO. They also can give certain Pokemon a chance to get a little action as well, in cases where the evo they had before had horrible stats or whatever.(Can't think of a Pokemon that this really applies to at the moment, but I'm sure there is one. Or several.) Neglected Pokemon getting a little limelight is good as well.

That being said, I do have one gripe: As Orion-Sama said, in a lot of cases, there's one evo that's clearly superior to the other, which kind of sucks, seeing as that means the other always gets neglected. So I guess that kind of counteracts one of the things I find good about branch evos. That kind of sucks. :(
Although... I guess when you're trying to make something better battle-wise, things like that are going to happen, so eh, what can you do? *shrug*
And really, D/P actually did a pretty good job avoiding this problem, so I guess it's not THAT big of a gripe, seeing as things at least seem to be going in the right direction. So I guess I still stand by the idea of branch evos. Overall, I think they're pretty cool. (<3 Gallade and Froslass... though Gardevoir and Glalie are awesome, too.)

... Aaaand... that's really all I have to say. D:

Most of the branched-evos are either cooler then their other ones (Hitmontop, Gallade) or just as cool (Slowking, Froslass)...

Except Bellosom......

Agreed with Habunake. The split evos are awesome, if not awesomer.

Gallade all the way. so much better than the other pkmn with its type combo. also an awesome cry.

Eeveelutions are awesome. i just never know what to pick...

Gloom > Bellosson
Poliwhirl > Poliwrath
Slowpoke > Slowbro
Eevee > Flareon Glaceon Umbreon
Tyrogue > Hitmonlee
Wurmple > Silcoon
Kirlia > Gardevoir
Snorunt > Glalie
Clamperl > Gorebyss
Burmy > Wormadam

Did I touch em all?

Kirlia > Gardevoir
I'm guessing you meant Gallade > Gardevoir.

As for me, I tend to try and appreciate aspects of each branch of an evo, with the exceptions of Bellossom (smaller and weaker-looking than Gloom, and minus the Poison typing), Politoed (baffles me to this very day), Hitmontop (why is it a top, exactly?), and Wormadam (just looks stupid).

Wow, epic thread revival!

I'm fine with Split-Evolutions as long as one doesn't completely outclass the other at doing the same thing. As long as each does a different job and is atleast moderately good at doing it, it works for me.

Well, aside from being realistic, it's just fun to choose which one you like. And you also pretty much have to get another of the same pokemon to get the other branch(es). And in some cases, that means you are forced to learn the breeding program. Which is a plus.

The eeveelutions are my favorite obviously, but the Ralts line is interesting as is the Snorunt line.

No I meant those to be arrows. As in, I like Kirlia to evolve into Gardevoir.

Ouch.

I like branch evolution, but I don't think we need anymore eevees.

I'll compare them, which branch I like more.

Politoed > Poliwrath
Bautifly = Dustox
Silcoon > Cascoon
Gardevoir < Gallade
Vileplume = Bellossom
Glalie < Froslass
Slowking > Slowbro
Hitmontop > Hitmonchan > Hitmonlee
Ninjask = Shedinja
Mothim < Wormadam
Huntail = Gorebyss

Eeveelutions:
1. Umbreon
2. Espeon
3. Flareon
4. Jolteon
5. Glaceon
6. Leafeon
7. Vaporeon

Slowbro > Slowking
Poliwrath > Politoad
Vileplume >> Belossom
Dustox > Beautifly
Ninjask > Shedinja
Glalie >>>> Froslass
Gardevoir >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Gallade
Mothim > Wormadam
Huntail > Gorebyss
Hitmonchan > hitmonlee > hitmontop
Espeon > Leafeon > Flareon = Umbreon > Glaceon > Jolteon > Vaporeon

I love branch evos. It's cool that you decide which they will evolve to.

I like the idea of a Pokemon being able to become different Pokemon. What would be even cooler though would be branching PRE-evolve forms. Like, Pokemon A can evolve into Pokemon C, but Pokemon B can also evolve into Pokemon C, But A can evolve into D and B can evolve into E. That would be really cool.
