Bred Pokemon for their moves

Sorry if there has been a thread about this before

But im curious to see how many people out there actually breed Pokemon to get a specific move and if u do, do u usually breed for moves? If u do, what have been some of your success stories or Pokemon that u have been proud of that have helped you out so much?

I breed ALL the time, trying to mix it up and get some moves that i like for power or just to be original.

My most useful Pokemon that i have bred and love to death is my Honchkrow, now lv 100 but i bred it with a Fearow that i had originally bred for with Sky Attack so my Murkrow had Sky Attack but it also got my fav flying type move which is Drill Peck. Honchkrow has been able to sweep through sooo many opponents, and nearly took down the E4 in Plat nearly single handedly. One of my prize and joys.

I recently bred a Timbur to have Mach Punch, now a Conkeldurr, still raising it but with its attack strength, even with a low power of 40, Mach punch still hands a beating and since it attacks first, its awesome

I bred a Gligar to know Cross Poison which is now a Gliscor

Vanillite to know Ice Shard
Xatu for Drill Peck
I copied Honchkrow but on a Skarmory
Basculin for Mud Shot to counter electric types
Zorua for Dark Pulse (never understood why they wouldnt allow it to learn by lv-up)
Hydreigon for Dark Pulse
Beartic and Feraligatr for Ice Punch
Salamence for Hydro Pump (still curious as to why Salamence for Hydro Pump)
Bisharp for Psycho Cut (help cover fighting types)
Aggron for Head Smash as long as Rock Head is the ability (Pure power and distruction!!!)
Escavalier for Megahorn recently lv 100 (pure power and distruction again!!)

and there are plenty more but enough about mine, whats ur stories???

I did a Scraggy (adamant) with Drain Punch and a Spheal (modest) with Water Pulse recently.

Egg moves are actually the only thing I don't breed for. I can breed for a specific nature, ability and IV combination for days, but I don't have the need for the moves that can be transferred trough breeding.

I bred an Adamant nature Aron with the Rock Head ability and Head Smash. That's definitely my proudest bred Pokemon ever.

I breed for Egg moves all the time. I also breed for good Natures, not so much IVs though.

Yeah, of course, all of the time. Because I battle competitively it's become a necessity. My proudest breed for Egg Moves is my Scrafty; it knows Ice Punch, Drain Punch, and Dragon Dance.

He's so Jolly.

I've bred a few Pokemon for egg moves. My proudest achievement is my level 100 Hydreigon that knows Dark Pulse (still don't know why it can't learn it regularly). It was a lot of work to get, too! I had to catch a Seviper on Diamond (while having Sapphire in the duel slot), teach it Dark Pulse via a TM, transfer it over to Black, breed it with a Deino, get the egg, hatch it, and raise the little guy to what he is now! :phew:

I've never bred specifically for moves, a couple of times I've bred a Pokémon and they just happen to have an Egg Move, but I don't really need to because the only reason I breed is for Pokédex completion purposes or to trade to people.

In my time I've been known to test out the waters of egg moves.

For the longest time I could never figure out how to get more than one move passed down, but then when I bred my Empoleon for an egg to hatch and trade a friend, the resulting Piplup came out with 3 moves that got passed down :O needless to say, I was floored. Hydro Pump, Surf and Ice Beam. That opened up the door for me to try to purposefully get moves via breeding.

Some of the things I've bred (off the top of my head) are:
Torkoal - Gyro Ball/Curse/Amnesia/Earthquake
Charmander - Dragon Dance/Metal Claw/Slash/Flamthrower
Dratini - Dragon Dance/Extremespeed/Dragon Rush/Outrage
Zorua - Dark Pulse/Night Daze/Snarl/Extrasensory

I don't really breed for complete movesets, but for moves that someone can later go in and select which moves they like on that Pokemon and change what they don't want.

I do not. I don't even breed Pokémon at all other than to get a duplicate rare Pokémon for trading. I think breeding is a horrible process... first off, once the Pokémon are put in you have to wait for an egg to be produced. Which doesn't always happen fast. And while your Pokémon are in the Daycare they crazy old hag is going mad with power teaching them all sorts of moves and overwriting the good ones. And then when you finally do get an egg, you need to travel around with it until it hatches which could take forever depending on the egg. And to make it worse, the egg takes up a slot in the party so your team gets all messed up. And no two eggs can hatch at the same time, so even if you've walked enough to make them hatch, if they are scheduled to hatch at the same time (like if you have 2 Charmander eggs or something) then you need to walk another few hundred steps for each one... which is a real problem if you're hatching multiple eggs.

However, I did acquire some Pokémon in a trade and they had egg moves. Some of the moves were really good, so I have nothing against it.

I often breed for moves on Pokes I want to use on Wi-Fi. One example I can think of is an Elekid, now Electivire, that I bred for Ice Punch and Cross Chop. Another more recent example is a Speed Boost Carvanha, now Sharpedo, that I bred for Hydro Pump.

I did the exact same thing for my Lvl.100 Hydreigon tell me about it! "phew" lol

I recently had a very successful breed with my DW Ninetales. I needed a Timid natured DW Ninetales with the bred move of Hypnosis while also having at least "Superior IV's". After going through about 30 Vulpix's breeding with Watchog (for Hypnosis) I finally achieved the perfect one.

It is now very high levelled and hope to get it to Lvl.100 very soon to use it for competitive battle! :D

So far, I've bred a Pawniard with Sucker Punch among the few breedings I remember. Next Pokémon to breed : Koffing with Psybeam.

I never expected certain moves to be inherited, but I once bred my level 70 male Staraptor with a female Swellow so I could get a Tailow to raise from level 1 in Pt.

I hatched a Tailow knowing Brave Bird and Fly XDD

I breed for moves all the time:
Shuckle with helping hand for double battles
Altaria with roost.
And thats all I can tink of but there are more.

My most proudest achievements included a Luxray with all the elemental fangs it can only know by breeding. This pokemon is my most powerful electric type on Platinum.

I spent ages trying to breed a Ferrothorn with Stealth Rock, Spikes and Leech Seed, before I realised it wasn't possible. I felt so stupid.
