Just tell about Pokemon breeding stories/experiences you had.

My first egg was in Ruby when I put my female Wingull in with my male Marill. They made eggs come TOO quickly. After a few hatched, I expected a Pichu egg or something then, but I didn't know then that you had to do...

One time in Ruby, I watched tv and caught some swarms of lvl. 15 Skitty near Rustboro City. I made them into couples, taught one Thunder, and put the couples in daycare. I made the Skitty children be couples with the other Skitty children. Then, I did like one or two more generations. I made this male Skitty cheat on another female Skitty. (felt bad about that...)

Once, my friend told me that she made her male Mightyena cheat on a number of female Poochyena.

Another time, I put a female Wigglytuff in with a male Jigglypuff... they didn't make any eggs...

In my little brother's Pearl, busy making Cyndaquil families and so on...

I never have been the kind of breeder who breeds for a better nature, moveset or stats. I did a small breeding last night, since the daily poke in Trophy Garden was a Jigglypuff - which I didn't have. But since it had a pre-evo and it wasn't available, I captured two of them and put them in the day care center. Not a fan of Igglybuffs, but I didn't have one - now I do.

I started breeding in the 2nd generation - I put a Ditto and a Jynx into day care, so I could have a Smoochum. I considerate the bred pre-evos to be pretty useless until they evolve into something else. I've made pretty good friends with my Exp. share because of that.

But the cutest couple I've ever had in day care was a Banette couple in Pearl. Since Shuppet wasn't available in any other way than breeding, I caught a Banette couple and bred them. The lvl 1 Shuppet that was hatched from the egg was something that actually made me squeal - it looks like a little baby ghost. Now I have no need for breeding, unless I catch a female Eevee (really, the gender ratio of that poke is messed up and annoying, I've never ever had a female Eevee).

Ahhh, I've been trying to breed Earthquake onto Flygon and Garchomp. So I breed my Drapion with Ditto and make some more Skorupi (who all, coincidentally, happen to know Sludge Bomb now), and took the lone baby lady Skorupi and paired it with Torterra, and got...nada.

That's when I realized Skorupi is Bug-Water 3 instead of Bug-Monster.
So it looks like I'll need a Swampert-Corsola-Skorupi-Trapinch chain to get a Flygon who knows Earthquake (without using a TM).

I never had bred that much, but on Emerald, I was breeding Marril to get an Azurill. Without the incense. It's not my fault, I didn't no you had to hold it. Now I've got about ten Marril.

When I breed on Platinum, I cycle from the cafe all the way through Solaceon to the Lost Tower in a HUGE cycle to hatch the egg. But I'm sure loads of people do that.

Waitwait - what? Call me an idiot, but you have to make Marill hold something in order to get an Azurill? And does only one have to hold it, or both of the parents?

managed to beat the odds and get 3 female eevees rather quickly.

The first time I started breeding is Emerald, with a female Absol and a male Mightyena...

At the end of it all, I had like, fifty Absols.

Okay that was funny haha.

The only silly breeding stuff I really have (I don't breed that much) is that Ditto is a pimp and that I actually kept track of this one line of Bulbasaurs once so my friend's Bulbasaur is like a great-grandfather XD

I only breed for babies. I don't do IVs/natures (or EVs either, but that's beside the point)

Same thing happened to me before. ^_^ Marill with the ability, Huge Power! I do that too with the cycling.

Only one parent has to hold it. With Ditto, it would have to be the Marill or Azumarill.

Ummmm.... This thread is called Breeding Stories. I already know of that thread which is just to show off and boast about the Pokemon you breed. This one is meant for sharing your breeding stories/experiences you have that you want to talk about.
Please, don't lock this thread if there is a problem. If there is one, I'll delete this thread...

Trying to breed an Illumise with an OK Nature to use in contests (Back in Gen III)

Of course, when a Volbeat hatched out, I was hilariously speechless. That confused me greatly. But I Lol at myself now.

I was trying to breed a Naughty Riolu with Crunch, which its father, a Raticate, knew. It took dozens of eggs, but eventually I got a Naughty Riolu... which was shiny. Apparently, however, the Raticate leveled up too much and forgot Crunch, so the Riolu didn't know it. I had to settle for a regular Lucario on my team instead. :( I still have the shiny one, at least.

Going for the Masuda method I bred a German Gengar and a Japanese Ditto until I hatched 1599 ghastly eggs. No shiny came out of the pairing and I stopped. I am an unlucky guy :p The Gengar and Ditto leveled to level 100 while mating in the daycare. Sex makes you a stronger person, you know.

I always breed to get my team, unless The nature is not negatively affecting the pokemon, and there are no egg moves that I'd want. I have atleast hatched 100+ eggs, because I've been egg breeding for so long some times, especially when I need a good nature, gender and ability. It's hard. I don't really care about IVs, because they don't have any negative effects. My favourite pet peeve about breeding is when you are trying to breed a shiny through the Different Game language method and you get all the natures you need for other pokemon, and you end up breeding 8 inventories worth of eggs, and none are shiny. : D

I said these in the other thread, so I'll do it again:

Shiny Chansey (now a Blissey used in the Sinnoh Battle Frontier)

A Bold Wish Eevee with "outstanding potential overall" (now a Vaporeon)

Hasty Murkrow with a perfect Defense IV born with Drill Peck (now a Honchkrow used in the Sinnoh Battle Frontier)

Bold Rotom with "outstanding potenial overall" (in Heat Forme)

2 Croagunk (one Modest, one Adamant) with "outstanding potential overall" (the Adamant one is now a Toxicroak used in the Sinnoh Battle Frontier)

3 male Jolly Aipom born with Fake Out (one of them has perfect IVs in Attack and Speed; it is now an Ambipom used in the Sinnoh Battle Frontier. The other 2 will be traded over to HG/SS when I get them.)

An Impish Duskull with Pain Split (now a Dusknoir)

A Spiritomb with Pain Split

My best story would be when I was breeding for an Adamant nature Rhyhorn. The very first egg had an Adamant nature as well as having perfect IV's in Attack, Defense and Sp. Defense. Needless to say, I was very happy.

I was breeding for a Modest Chimchar, and the first Chimchar I breed was Modest with 31 Sp. Attack IVs and 30 Speed IVs.

Please note: The thread is from 16 years ago.
Please take the age of this thread into consideration in writing your reply. Depending on what exactly you wanted to say, you may want to consider if it would be better to post a new thread instead.
