How many people here are fans of the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini? I'm a huge fan of the series, and I've been reading the books for years. The third book, Brisingr, just came out, and after attending the midnight release party, I devoured it. Has anyone else here already read it, or is interested in reading it?

I'm somewhat interested. Years ago I 'attempted' reading Eragon. Let's just say it didn't go well. But my completely-obsessive-freak/ish-fangirly friend has persuaded me to give them another go.

After watching a bit of the movie (considering movies are always horrible compared to the book) I told myself I could read them. So far, I'm up to the 6th page. =D

Did he actually stop copying the plot of Star Wars for the third book and stop making Eragon a Dragon Riding, all-powerful mage and swordman Mary Sue?

Boy, did you ever come to the wrong forum for this.

Back on topic. I've read none of the books, but I have watched Eragon the movie. Personally, I was disappointed, as they killed off the only character who was in any way interesting.

Why would I be a fan of a book I can't stand to read past the first chapter? I'm not intrigued by the plot (which, from summaries I ended up reading, seems inane and largely borrowed from more interesting stories), and my little sister could write better than Paolini when she was 10.

I don't even know how am I supposed to pronounce Brisingr, and usually I'm good with languages. Even made up ones.

Years ago I attempted Eragon after borrowing it from a friend 'cause I wanted to know what all the fuss was about. I got bored reading the first chapter and put it down. The writing style was too dry for me to enjoy it. So yeah, I ain't gonna be reading Brisingr anytime soon.

I barely read the first book. I couldn't catch what was really going on at all so I just gave up on it.
