So, tonight I decided I wanted to paint. I had a few drinks, and then I realized I hadn't painted anything in a long while. I happened to be traversing Route 13 in Black 2 when this thought occurred to me. Of course, the first thought in my mind was, "Man, I should really decorate my DS. Then everyone will know how much of a nerd I am!"
And so I got out my sandpaper, my paint brushes, and my acrylic paint. After ejecting my cartridge, I set to work dutifully sanding my DS Lite's cover, making it rough enough to facilitate an acrylic medium. After taking another few sips from my crappy-vodka-and-root-beer (I'm poor, my drinks are simple, leave me alone
), I started painting a PokéBall. While doing so, I realized a smooth painting was just not possible on this medium. SO I started experimenting. On my once-expensive piece of technology. Because, you know, that's typically a good idea.
Anyway, a lot of sanding and experimenting later, I have decided to let my partial creation rest a bit. While taking yet another big sip from my drink, I realized what I had painted looked a lot like a very thick spider's web. And thus, my newest project was born. I plan to paint a nice web pattern on it, and then add a few of my favorite bug-types. I'm thinking Metapod, Joltik, and Spinarak.
So, to conclude, here is the best picture I could take of my barely-done creation. I plan on logging my process here as it evolves, so keep checking in.
Keep in mind that I am using my phone's camera and less-than-optimal lighting. It is actually White, I promise. I intend to sell this DS for a few dollars more than the price of a DS Lite from Gamestop, so that I can buy another one and profit a bit. Feel free to let me know what you think, and give me pointers. I am not exactly an experienced painter.
