Bulbacast audio cues suggestions

I have a suggestion for the Bulbacast. I would email it personally to the castmaster or revive an old thread rather than starting a new one, but don't want to start off here being tooannoying.

Please consider retooling the musical cues. For the most part they don't really work well in a podcast context.

The opening theme is way too long at 1:30, and a bit too dramatic for introducing casual roundtable discussion. Even if you stick with the theme, you have to cut it down; it's just too much 'dead space' in a discussion podcast.

The other musical cues, which seem to be intended as segues into new topics, are okay, but the volume could be turned down a little so they blend back into discussion more easily. As it stands the sudden burst into loud tunage is a little jarring.

If you listen to only one of my suggestions, please let it be this one--get rid of the phone call jingle. You know, the little clip of some Pokemon making noises before taking someone's call. I don't care if it's a cute reference to a scene in episode [HASHTAG]#27X[/HASHTAG] where Mareep answers a telephone or whatever it is, it's just obnoxious and irritating. We don't really need an audio cue at all--simply saying "we're taking a call from ___" is cue enough--but if you insist on having one, please, PLEASE change it. (the ultra scratchy high pitched Japanese Wobuffet call in the PPN commercial also grates my ears, but I'll pick my battles)

Your current outro is what I think we should see more of. It's a -short- clip of the current ED's -karaoke- track, and it's light and upbeat. Well suited for its purpose and context. I'd like to see the intro take on similar form.

I think tweaking these audio cues would make the podcast more pleasant to listen to.

I agree with everything said here. I especially hate the phone call jingle. It's tacky because you can hear the whatever character is present making noises in the background.

All of these suggestions are things that've been bugging me too.

I also personally think Bulbacast needs to be less... passive and friendly. Not the attitude, the attitude is fine, but when there's not conflict or debates and just information which is mostly old or opinions - it dosen't really spark my interest. I personally wish "What's your favorite"-type questions weren't allowed. :/
2 cents.

I don't know if the changes were made independently or at our behest, but the audio tweaks featured in the latest Bulbacast are an improvement, nicely done and appreciated.

lol, I was going to comment about that, too. Is there a Q&A thread or a suggestion thread for the bulbacast? It would help keep things organized instead of having floating topics.

Just a note, the sound effect that we used on the call-ins was from the Japanese version of episode 2. It was the Pokemon Center videophone ringing. No pokemon were involved in that sound.

Please take the age of this thread into consideration in writing your reply. Depending on what exactly you wanted to say, you may want to consider if it would be better to post a new thread instead.
