Just listening to it now. It's 2 hours, so I might be awhile. Will comment later. Happy Birthday Pie.

Edit: Pretty good discussion this week, audio wasnt as good as the first bulbacast. Sounded hollow quite often, the skype call quality kept changing, which I found kinda annoying, though it did get better. Hopefully this will improve.

They need to keep the current voice actors for the 9th season, if a 9th season dub comes out. What 4kids/nintendo/whoever is dubbing the 9th season needs to realize that Pokemon is at the 9th season, people like myself started watching this 9 years ago. 10th anniversary is in 2006. The original remaining fans that watched the show from the beginning are 10 years older!

Karaoke contest, should be something EASY to start! with a karaoke track, possible one that has been subbed so people can follow the video as well. TV size would be good.

Arguing is not very good, nor is yelling. That made me cringe! Ugh at Emerald playing in background.

I think Pie sounds like, hostess from The Screen Actor's Guilt episode and she would be great for that Radio Drama.

Dub of 18 was aired but not released on wb but not on DVD and 38 was dubbed but never released. Bulbapedia: "4Kids Entertainment has dubbed this episode and reduced the speed and intensity of the flashing explosion to make it safe, but the episode has still never been shown." http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/EP038

AG101 was not released because of the earthquakes in Japan. They did reschedule it and said they would air, but just before it was scheduled air again there was yet another earthquake and it has not been rescheduled. "It was set to air in Japan on November 4, 2004. The episode was skipped in Japan due to strong earthquakes in Niigata prefecture nearly a week before the airing of AG100. It was also subsequently skipped in the English-language broadcasts." http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/AG101_(unaired) As Archaic said, it will most likely air as a Pokemon Sunday episode, if it airs.

Shopping for items and food has been shown in the anime. http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/EP082 Very beginning of the episode.

Wizard of the Coast is the king of TCG's, Magic the Gathering. I think WPM mentioned that Wizards didn't put as much depth and effort into the Pokemon TCG as they do Magic, but then again, the Pokemon TCG was designed not to be as complex as Magic. I do not think it was WOTC fault the way the first generation of the TCG turned out, I think the it was because it was designed to be simple and many Pokemon/TCG fans wanted it to be more complex. WOTC was the correct choice for the TCG when it was first released as their background in TCG is unmatched.

I agree with Pie, Aaron is hot! So is Brock. Brock looked like Friar Tuck to me. I did think the whole hot spring thing in the movie was to get May into a skimpy bikini again. You sort of discussed it late in the Bulbacast about May, though not forth right for obvious reasons, basically May replaced Misty as Pokemon's Male sex appeal. No way a 10 year old girl has a body like that! Just not physically possible, maybe if she was 14, 15, but thats pushing it. 17, 18 is more likely.

Releasing the RAW just allows people that cannot get the actual DVD because its only available in Japan. A fansub is in the works and should be out soon for those, including myself, that arent fluent in japanese and would like to watch the Japanese version of the movie. 1800+ downloads shows that there IS interest in the Japanese version in the English speaking community. Movie 8 being the second highest grossing movie still shows there is interest in Japan.

Spoilers are pretty much a given with Bulbacast and should be discussed, thats just my opinion. I liked the statistics and it showed how good M8 did in comparison with other movies.

Brock dances with Kid, which I agree was a very good scene. I thought Jessie's outfit was really nice as was May's. I thought the James/May dance was odd. You guys noted that Kid didnt ditch Brock, I think that is a confidence builder for Brock and there is FINALLY some character development for Brock there.

Speaking of Brock character development, AG156, though Pie might have liked it, I thought it was boring, almost as boring as Snorlax In Slakoth's Banana Garden [Visual Nyquil]. I have NEVER watched that episode all the way through, only episode I havent watched. I was able to watch AG156. I seriously HOPE that Brock doesnt carry that Usohachii in his arms like Misty did with Togepi. As far as a Brock episode, it was boring, as was AG157. BF has been quite good but these 2 episodes were boring. By the preview of ag158, that looks kinda boring as well... I agreed with TSS and Archaic, Pie: "Maybe it appeals to girls more then boys." Sorry Pie.

As for more women callers on Bulbacast, I think there needs to be more callers in general, not just women. I am a very shy person, and one of the reasons I like forums/IRC is that its easy for me to type my thoughts down. I have never been a good public speaker, though my knowledge of the Pokemon anime is probably unmatched by anyone, I am not confortible with the whole Webcam/skype thing as I have had bad experiences in the past with it and would not like that to occur again. Not to say that I wouldnt like to participate, just a personal preference. I dont think your going to get many girls participating in the Bulbacast, only because there isnt that many girls in the Pokemon Fandom that are active on the Internet.

Perhaps you should take questions and comments from people in [HASHTAG]#bulbacast[/HASHTAG] channel during the live recording similar to what The Screen Savers used to do. TSS will be able to comment on this. It would allow people that would like to participate in the Bulbacast, but don't want to call in via voice or cannot due to bandwidth or connection problems.

For AG157, I agree with PPN, it was self hyped. Were expecting something really good and it coming out at the same time as M8 DVD, sort of made it a secondary show for that week for many.

Pokemon Special as OVA would be really good. I also wish they would release more episodes starring the characters from Pokemon Crystal OVA.

Good Bulbacast, well done. Look forward to episode 3.

Is there any way that can be put into a smaller file size...?

WPM has a much higher voice than I expected. o_O

...and really, this is WAY too long.

It was a Christmas special and there was tons to talk about. Of course it's gonna be long! XD

I'm still a bit miffed that the first recording of the contest announcement was used instead of the second. The second was a lot better, I though.

Trust me, the wording may have been better, but the recording was worse.

2 hours of podcast is, as I see it, unacceptably long. Even the best radio shows are like an hour of talk tops. Maybe an hour and a half. If there's that much to talk about--well, then you might have to slice some of the stuff. That's just a really long time.

Edit: I'll have it up for sharing for the next few days.

Was the recording really that bad? Ah well. Nuts.

I thought we were going to cut this one into two parts and have them separate for downloading? Hmm.

Probably because I was sick (and still am). That and I just have a really weird voice when I talk casually.

WOTC did a lot of dirty things before their execution that caused them to ruin the game. First off, they got rid of the 15+ age division, and insiders sources confirmed that they did this to try and get older Pokemon players to go to their own MTG. They also pretty much stopped having tournaments, and were releasing the sets at a very... slow... pace. They also shut down many Pokemon leagues. When some people were recruited to go out and search for more leagues under Wizards, it was later discovered that all the locations that were supposed to be for Pokemon were used as leagues for their other card games, excluding Pokemon. Overall, they just didn't care about Pokemon anymore and were doing anything they could to kill it. It had nothing to do with people wanting the game to be more complex. Where did you hear that from?

I thought that we covered alot of ground in 2 hours, though 60 min. Bulbacasts will be the norm. As for the quality, it was decent for the length of time (82 megs in 2 hrs and 1 min.), but I agree that the first Bulbacast sounded much better than the second. However though, all of these suggestions will be considered for next time, as we are always striving our best to create a Cast which everyone will enjoy. I do think though that my performance was better than the first one, considering I actually prepared for it somewhat, and I only hope to improve in the future.

I think that is a very good idea. I was actually thinking about doing a Q&A section of the cast (and to tell you the truth, when we do have a situation where there is no content, that would be great to fill in the gaps). That will also make this more interactive, like the old Tech TV shows used to be, and will certainly increase our popularity. At this point we need more people in the bulbacast channel, and I will prod Archaic to set up a java chat link to that.

Does anyone care about the quality of the 'casts? I just think that as long as you can understand what everyone is saying and as long as it is reasonable in file size, it's okay.

I would have liked it to been more complex, there is no particular people, though I have discussed it in chatrooms with others.

Better quality cast would be better, but I understand the technical limitations and I am quite amazed how well it has turned out, I was just stating, if possible, the quality of the sound could be improved.

*is huggled* Daw, thanks! I'm delighted to think that I have fans.

*Makes big "GO PIE" sign* Lol I liked this B-Cast. It kept me really informed on the state of ADD in the world, j/k. I loved it.

hey guys - i'm not big on bulbagarden or anything, but i just wanted to let everyone know that i listen to these and i'm really enjoying the discussion! keep up the good work. people did cut out a little bit more this time around, but... it was okay. i think if you guys had stayed strictly on-topic you could have forced this episode into an hour, but i like the casual tone. you guys are interesting to listen to.

although, according to dogasu's site, the whole first part was mere speculation and 4kids will keep dubbing the anime, and nothing will change. soo...

okay that is all.
