EDIT 12/22: Deadline extended to January 2.

こんにちは、みんなさん! Hello, everyone!

2006 has been an absolutely amazing year here at Bulbagarden. With the debate over the new dub voice actors, the launch of Diamond and Pearl, two server moves, and everything else, things have never been busier.

We're getting into the spirit of the holiday season (or perhaps spirits in the case of Mozz when he's drunk), and to show our appreciation for your continued support of us, we've decided to run a special raffle to reward members for their continued contributions to the site.

So no one gets left out, we'll be offering a number of ways for people to earn entry tickets for the raffle. In addition to the following, we might give out a few tickets at random, or to people who do something special, so try your best!

How to enter:
* Anyone who enters the soon-to-be-announced Winter Art Contest will receive a ticket. The grand prize winner of the contest will receive five (5) tickets.
* Anyone who creates a new, suitably themed skin for the forums (Winter, Christmas, New Year's, or something along those lines. Valentine's Day isn't too long away, so that'll work, too.) will earn three (3) tickets. You'll need to do both the colour scheme and the images for it.
* You can also make a themed skin which doesn't fit into those above guidelines, like an Ash or Brock one, but that's only worth two (2) tickets.
* People who create significant new articles on Bulbapedia (not stubs) or make significant contributions to an existing article will get a ticket for each, pending approval of the editorial board. You'll only be counted once for each article, though, no matter how many times you edit it. Please keep a log of your eligible contributions on your userpage and post a message on [bp=User talk:Archaic]Archaic's talk page[/bp] to notify him of your interest in the raffle.
* If you submit an article to Bulbanews using the New Article Assistant, you can earn two (2) tickets. You'll earn an extra entry or two if your article is able to be put straight up without any significant changes by our editors. As with the Bulbapedia entries, please keep a log on your userpage of your eligible contributions and post a message on Argy's talk page to notify her of your interest in the raffle.
* Finally, anyone who donates money to Bulbagarden in our [bp=Site support]winter fundraiser[/bp] will earn his or herself a ticket for every $1 (U.S.) donated.

Restrictions:
* Without making a donation you can earn a maximum of 20 tickets. However, anyone who donates $1 (U.S.) or more has no limit on the amount of tickets he or she can possibly earn.
* Bulbagarden staff are not eligible.

How to win:
Bulbagarden staff will keep a record of how many tickets each member has received. On January 2, 2007, a random drawing of all tickets will be held. The winner will then be notified by private message or e-mail and will be asked to provide his or her contact information.

Prizes:
* The winner of the art contest will receive a Pokémon 2007 wall calendar featuring original Pokémon art.
* The overall winner of the raffle will receive any item(s) of his or her choice up to $30 (U.S.) from PokémonCenter.com.

Bulbagarden's Winter Art Contest: another way to win raffle tickets!

EDIT 12/22: Deadline extended to January 2.

In conjunction with the Bulbagarden winter raffle, members may enter our Winter Art Contest to receive tickets. Each contest entry will be worth one ticket.

How to enter:
By January 2, 2007, submit your original Pokémon fan art or pixel art (sprites) to this thread.
* Fan art may be in any form as long as it is the user's original artwork. Each piece of art will be worth one ticket.
* Pixel art (sprites) must be submitted in groups of at least two sprites per entry to receive one ticket. Sprites must contain a Pokémon character and must be in original poses.

Restrictions:
* All art must be winter-, Christmas-, or holiday-themed.
* All art must be the original work of the artist and not contain any poses or images contained in official Pokémon art.
* Bulbagarden staff may not enter.

How to win:
* On January 2, 2007, staff members Argy, Kasumi, and Pie will judge all entries and decide winners. All eligible entrants will receive tickets depending on how many entries they made.
* Grand prize, second prize, and third prize winners will be announced.

Prizes:
* The grand prize winner will receive a Pokémon 2007 wall calendar featuring original Pokémon art and a custom piece of art from one of the judges. The winner will also receive five raffle tickets (in addition to the one already received by entering).
* The second prize winner will receive a custom piece of art from one of the judges in addition to three raffle tickets (in addition to the one already received by entering).
* The third prize winner will receive a custom piece of art from one of the judges in addition to two raffle tickets (in addition to the one already received by entering).

Regards,

The Bulbagarden Art Staff

Just an FYI for people entering the Art Contest...the Pokémon 2007 wall calendar apparently sold out before we were able to procure one for our prize, something we only found out after the contest had already started. Instead, the winner of the Art Contest will be entitled to any item from PokémonCenter.com up to $15.

Just as a quick FYI for everyone who made new articles on Bulbapedia during the contest period, or significant edits to existing articles, there's still time for you to post on my Bulbapedia talk page with the contributions you made during that time, to claim your tickets. Simply go to http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Special:Contributions/YOUR_BULBAPEDIA_USERNAME_HERE to find out what you did. You don't have to have created things in one single edit. If you've made a significant contribution to an article over that period with a number of edits, that'd still count.

Please note: The thread is from 19 years ago.
Please take the age of this thread into consideration in writing your reply. Depending on what exactly you wanted to say, you may want to consider if it would be better to post a new thread instead.
