I just checked the appraisal for the Bulbagarden.net domain and it's estimated to be worth around $4,960 [Appraisal Link]. Serebii.net is priced at $1,299,312 [Appraisal Link]. There's a huge amount of money to be made on the internet.
 
There is many factors that increase a domain's value. Serebii.net is a one word domain, it gets much more traffic than Bulbagarden.net, has more Google search listings and is a shorter domain, opposed to Bulbagarden.net.

I registered Youpunk.com, Romrealm.com and Confused.cc today. The net value of these domains (developed) could be worth thousands.
 
Also, there is the quality factor, but I won't go into that.
