Been scanning forums lately and what i've found is making me vomit...

These are just some of the things i've been reading at a certain forum (don't worry it's not serebii, and i won't mention names):

The first few on the topic of pokeballs:
When the red beam comes out of the ball, it shrinks them, I think.
I think that when they turn into red energy, they really shrink and there is a tiny resort in there where they can relax and play.
This one makes me sick as a doctor who fan:
They (as in Nintendo) use Time Lord technology to make the Pokeballs bigger on the inside than it is on the outside. Everu one of them is a mini TARDIS!
GRRR.....Since when does Nintendo manufacture pokeballs?

And these on the topic of Kyogre v. Groudon are quite funny (no names):

Fan 1: In other words, I think Groudon could hold his own against Kyogre when it comes to who can disrupt the balance between land and sea. Otherwise, Kyogre would have killed Groudon in the ancient clash between them.

Fan 2: When you said myth, etc, how do you know this? could you post me the link to the video's/articles because id like to have a browse at this ;o

Have any of these people ever played any form of pokemon?

But wait theres more. These are from a D/P thread:

I'm just wondering...if I trade a certain pokemon from my Emerald game to Diamond or Pearl and the base stats are different, will my pokemon's stats change to be like the D/P stats?

Do you know if we can trade our Pokemon back to LG/FR/E?

Keep in mind that these posts are well after d/p's release and all Pal Park info was revealed.

No. Once they've gone to the new game, they've vanished entirely from your old carts, and you won't be able to put them back.
^^^Little bit special?

If anyone else has heard stupid things like this, I wanna hear 'em!

...maybe I'm daft, but those don't seem that bad. And Bulbagarden isn't perfect. It's the proud host of some of the most FW-worthy and pointless flamewars in the fandom.

"Mukkuru must be from out space since it is a Starling!"

THAT was a dumb statement, those not so much.

I don't know if we're the only intelligent forum, but we promote ourselves as such. Most of our members, mods and admins are college graduates and/or students.

Is that really true? For the latter group of people, I suppose it is.

Serebii has GREAT members, but few and far between.

I don't know if it's that we're the most intelligent, but I think we probably have the highest age average, so that obviously contributes.

Bulbagarden is the most intelligent Pokemon forum I've ever been to. Most of the other ones seem to be made up almost entirely of little kids.

It really does seem to be the only one... the only popular one anyway.

Thou speaketh the truth. ^^; It's a shame we can't haul all of those over here...

I know of another intelligent Pokemon forum.

Go ahead, guess which one.

That reminds me... ^^;
I couldn't access that thing for MONTHS. o_O; Is the forum gone or what?

I'm actually a member of the forum where the Pokéball discussion happened. There a very very few intelligent members there, and they are of the college age.

Somehow, Bulbagarden built up a reputation as a more mature Pokémon forum. I wasn't on the Internet when all the forums were starting, so I have small amounts of knowledge as to the beginnings of this place.

I can say that I am in college, so I am included in that age division.

Aside from the elitism, this place isn't that bad. It's probably one of the more interesting Pokemon forums, but the fact that this place is dead more often than not works against it.

The same threads stay on the first page of every forum for months at a time, and you always have the same cluster of people posting so it's essentially the same opinions of a few over and over. Too bad this place isn't more lively, it can be awfully boring here sometimes with the lack of activity.

^^^
That's true, but atleast it's not a squirtle boy posting topics over and over and over and over and over

With you around? :p

I don't see a problem with activity levels. There's not much incentive to stay around after reading all the forums but forums are designed to be returned to later anyway. Personally, I find SPP too active for my tastes.

Also, the activeness causes it too go down...alot .
