Since people don't seem to get the difference between their personal image albums and the Gallery, I'm closing the latter until the Speculation Contest ends/we get new Gallery mods who help me delete images that don't belong there.

My apologies for any inconveniences this might cause to our resident fanartists. Thanks for your patience and cooperation.

I don't know if a suggestion is allowed or not, but for vb4 I think we can make all album pics move into the Gallery. That could help?

So this means the The Artisan's Gallery too? If so then that blows.
 
Seriously, does anyone really care about the differences between the two? Except for image uploading and folder differences, all that's different is the rules between the two, which seem rather pointless, given how the Albums are used for the Gallery's intended fanart half the time anyway. And especially how the Galleries have categorization support, being the superior of the two (except in how the Albums' multi-upload feature actually works).

This just seems like rule-making for the sake of rule-making (or extreme categorization), really. :p Just want to know what's up with it all.
 
Basically, the albums are almost like an imageshack kind of thing, but specific to our forums. You can upload basically anything there, you don't need to have created it yourself.

As for why that kind of stuff can't be put in the gallery....the use and misuse of art without permission is a huge issue amongst many fanartists, so we want to have a system in place that respects that, and keeps fanart uploaded by the creator separate to just random uploads.
 
I don't get it. I uploaded in my own album I made and I checked it that it would go in there. Archaic can you explain it to me please?
 
For week 1 of the Black and White Speculation Contest, it requires a picture to make your guess valid. I uploaded a picture but now it isn't showing.

Reading the whole thread doesn't take you too long, you know?

The Gallery isn't here so you can upload pictures you DID NOT draw yourself. Which is why I closed it for the time being. Why is that so difficult to understand? It's posted as an announcement here on the forums and it's on the Gallery's rules at the top.

As UltimateSephiroth said, upload it to your album in your userCP and edit your post in the Speculation Thread. It's not difficult.
 
I would also like to be bringing this up in this thread (I hope I won't get in trouble): however, the one thing that I'm relatively confused about is that why the gallery isn't allowing me to upload my drawings to the gallery. I had something uploaded previously that's saved in my uploads that waiting to be confirmed to the gallery, however, every time I try to actually do as such, it keeps giving me an error. This, in particular, is also keeping me from uploading anything else that I may want to.

I know that this is probably a bit off track of the fact that the gallery should be a gallery for art that the user has created with their own talents and abilities, though I think that this is an issue that should be brought up, as it is troublesome.
 
Yes... I know... but back when I was able to do so....
