Yeah, I just got the e-mail too. I can't wait to see it after the next issue comes out.

It may be out already, I usually get mine around the 20th or so, I may get it tonight.

You may get it before I do. For some reason I get it abnormally late now. I used to get it 2 weeks early, but now it's more within the first week of the month. :/

Yeah, same with me. Where are they produced? I live in Phoenix, so it shouldn't be that remote...

On the other hand, I wonder who the artist is. American? Japanese? Something else?

Controller of Flames has a summary of it:

Well I opened up my Nintendo Power and found out they had a mysterious dungeon translation here is a summary. Sorry about it being a bit long.

One day all of a sudden you transform into a Torchic what would you do?

The plot starts off with a boy sitting at a desk in school, he has messy black hair and a t-shirt with a Ghastly on it, he also has an x scar on his forehead. He is counting down, as soon as he reaches zero he dashes out of the school.

Two boy’s see the boy running home, one ask why Ginji is rushing home. The other boy who is wearing a star shirt (I’ll just call him the star boy as he has no name at the moment) replies that it’s his birthday tomorrow, and he is going home to look for his present. Ginji dashes into the house and finds a note from his mom saying he won’t find his present. Ginji says that he won’t fall for that trick.

The scene switches to the two boys walking out from school. The star shirt boy says that he is planning to search the entire house for the present. The other states that it sounds like something Ginji would do. Genji is then seen franticly searching the house. The scene then switches to a woman opening the door to her house and saying she is home. She then finds her child Ginji on the floor and scolds him for searching for the gift and being impatient. Ginji then goes to his room complaining about wanting to see it and the mother swishes he would have that excitement for studying. Ginji then goes to sleep stating he won’t give up until he finds his present.

All of a sudden there is an explosion and a Torchic is watching as something cries for help. The Torchic goes into the dust and finds a Mudkip. The Mudkip thanks the Torchic for saving it. The Mudkip then looks at the Torchic and asks what is wrong. The Torchic states that it is hallucinating, and asks itself if that Mudkip just spoke to him. It then screams. It is then revealed that the Torchic has an scar on it’s forehead, the Torchic starts flapping it’s wings and breathing fire. The Mudkip asks if the Torchic is okay. Torchic then starts hitting it’s head on a tree and says that as soon as he wakes up it will be back to normal. It then realises through it’s pain that it’s not a dream. The Torchic then calms down.

The Mudkip then says that it hasn’t seen the Torchic and asks what it’s name is. The Torchic simply replies Ginji. The Mudkip says it’s name is Mudkip (how original), and states that Ginji is a weird name. Ginji replies it’s a normal name for humans. Ginji then states that he has no idea what is going on and doesn’t blame the Mudkip for being confused. Ginij asks where they are and Mudkip replies this is his training ground. But the earthquake destroyed it. Ginji says that it looks more like a playground. The sad Mudkip says that some day he wants to be on the Rescue Team. Ginji questions the training and says they are all toys. Mudkip says he is small and a coward that doesn’t have any skills. Ginji thinks to himself that he probably was just playing. Mudkip says that the earthquake was a sign to give up. He says he isn’t getting any stronger and he probably would never get into the rescue team anyway.

Mudkip sadly leaves and Genji asks if he is going to quit. Mudkip then says that if he tried a little harder he may master one skill. Ginji then complains that Mudkip is wishy washy and leaves. Leaving Mudkip to ask where he plans to go.

Ginji thinks he should first find out how he transformed. He then announces to Mudkip that he plans to go to the police. Mudkip asks what the police are. They then find a giant hole and figure out that there must have been another earthquake. They then hear something screaming Mudkip franticly paces around and wonders what he should do. But Ginji head butts them into the hole. Mudkip starts complaining about the push but then the both notice a giant hole. Another earthquake appears and they quickly go into the cavern. Mudkip states that there have been a lot of natural disasters and Ginji acts like he has never heard of them.

Mudkip then notices that there are Sunkern in the cave. He asks if they were asking for help but they all start attacking the two. Ginji quickly releases a fire attack and they both run away with Mudkip wondering why Sunkern would attack.

Mutiple times Ginji is seen using fire attacks while Mudkip rns away. After the third time Ginji asks why Mudkip doesn’t help fight. Mudkip states that he simply cannot.

They eventually find a Caterpie asking for help, but before they can do anything a boulder falls. Then Ginji gets hit by a string shot. Mukip runs to his side and ak if he is alright. An Ariados is then shown to be the one who attacked. Ginji stands up while Mudkip says it’s too scary and it wants to run away. Ginji says not to and when he attacks to rescue the Caterpie. Mudkip ssys that it’s impossible for him to accomplish that. Ginji then yells to not give up to the very end.

Mudkip starts encouraging himself and that he will be on the rescue team. He tells himself that he doesn’t wasn’t to give up and attacks Aridos with a water gun. Ginji congratulates Mudkip and takes advantage of the distraction and uses flamethrower on the insect.

The scene switches with the caterpie saying good-bye and leaving. Mudkip then starts feeling pain as he notices a scratch. Ginji calls him a crybaby and Mudkip starts yelling at him. But Ginji just cheerfully replies that it was good he didn’t give up. Mudkip realises that Ginji is injured far more then he is. Mudkip then thinks he should stick with Ginji.

Mudkip then gives a long speech on how he has a unique power and they could do the impossible. He then says that they should form their own rescue team. Ginji refuses and says Mudkip talks too much. Mudkip then shortens the length of his request to simply froming a rescue team. Ginji simply aggress and it ends starting that a famus combination has been formed.

Please give credit to me if you use this in any way. I also have formed a new appreciation for those summaries Coronis' does for us.

I'll try to a trasncript when I get mine, which may be today.

Even better, a few scans would be nice. The comics aren't that long and I think
they are covered in a dozen pages or so. I could do it when I get mine,
but I don't know how soon that will be.

F'in Sweet! It's a manga!

This makes it less likely the Special will be based off this. I thought it would be anime art with word bubbles.

Btw, that guy gets turned into a Torchic!

Nice, now I really cant wait! ^_^
But considering Nintendo Power's track record with comics, this series may end permaturely..
I'd give it about 6-7 issues. The editors don't keep things that long for some reason.
I really hope they can get the best out of it while it's around.

They said it would be 6 parts, it's probably already been writen.

I wonder if they will release a Graphic Novel of it? Great too see a Pokemon Manga in US.

It would be great.. no awesome if they did that.
But some other company may have to take care of publishing issues.
However, with PUSA trying to be jack of all trades, a Manga paperback seems to be no sweat to them. [/sarcasm]

Wow, it's a manga that reads right to left and everything! ^^

Question. Is it in the magazine like the reent comics, a little book that's stapled in the spine like the old Pokémon anime adaptions were, or does it come as a seperate book?

Yeah it's pretty decent, the only regretable thing is that it's non-detachable.
It's translated stright from Coro-Coro issues in Japan (whee that's great!)
It looks like this is here for the long run, about 5 months according the insert.

I could put scans tommorow when I get around to it.

Hrmm, I'd love the CoroCoro scans so I could have the original artwork with the translation..
