*insert rant on name controversy here* I have no problem with it myself

From Buizeru to Buoysel...that changes how the name appears to be pronounced. At least to me. The first spelling I thought was pronounced "bwee-zeru" but with the new one it looks more like "boy-zel".

I'm thinking more along the lines of "booee-zel"...unless that's what you meant by "boy-zel". :P

Buoy is pronounced 'boy', contrary to what some Americans may pronounce it (rather sillyly) as.

And yes, if you didn't know, buoy is actually a word. And pronounced the same as "boy", as mentioned. It's one of these:

Seals not included.

It's more like coming from the initial noun "buoyancy" then from the buoy itself. >_<. Although we are just lucky: these are only the romanizations, i hope the dub won't be inspired from them. *nods for Buoysel's future dub-name*

It makes sense for it to keep that part of the name since Bouysel will need buoyancy if it does help people to travel across the water.

I've always pronounced "buoy" "boo-ey," which is how "bui" is pronounced.

Why?

You don't say "Boo-ey-en-cee" for buoyancy, do you? What's the point of pronouncing Buoy wrong if you're going to use the correct pronounciation as part of another word anyway?

From Webster's:
Main Entry: buoy
Pronunciation: 'bü-E, 'boi
Function: noun

Both pronunciations are correct.

Say 'iron' and 'ironic' out loud for me, would you?

Technically, 'iron' should be said i-rawn, like it's always said in ironic, right? But I've never heard anyone, but anyone, say it that way. Anyone would see iron and pronounce it i-urn, right?

I can think of plenty more examples, if that one doesn't work.

Iron isn't related to Ironic though.

A Buoy is called so because of it's Buoyancy. So if you're going to talk about it's Buoyancy and pronounce it properly, why not just pronounce itproperly?

Indeed, what he said.

Besides, irony is also pronounced like iron, not like ironic, isn't it? Face it, every rule in this language was meant to be bent and/or broken.
