I just started up Pokemon blue and noticed that poison attacks are non-effective vs. my bulbasaur. But the type charts say poison is still super-effective vs. grass so they should be doing normal dmg not non-effective - anyone know what's up with that?

What kind of attack that non effective against Bulbasaur? IIRC since Bulbasaur is Poison type, it can't be Poisoned so attack like Poison Powder won't work on its.

It was a poison sting - bulbasaur is grass/poison so it should be normal dmg but it was non-effective :/

As I recall, it's a glitch of gen 1. Even though poison and grass cancel each other out in terms of weakness and resistances (at least versus poison) the game labels it as not very effective because of the poison typing. This should be cosmetic though.
