to make the question short, I want to get a lopunny, But as far as i know, there is no way to catch one, there is buneary, but that presents 2 problames

1, Buneary evolves by friendship, and you catch it around level 10, I would need to evolve it by level 13 in order to get lopunny's Return attack,
2, Buneary's abilities suck, Klutz/Run away, Id like to get lopunnys abilitie [Cutecharm]/klutz but the only way seemingly to get one, is by evolving, How am i supposed to get this ability, Why would it be different if you couldnt somehow get it.

so with these problems in mind does anyone know how to get a cutecharm lopunny at level 12 or below?

Just keep a buneary in your party wherever you go, get it a massage at veilstone daily, and if you want, use some vitamins on it. Just check it's happiness until it's maxed out and you can get it at lvl 11.

You could always go to the Move Relearner to get Return. Heart Scales are EVERYWHERE in the Underground.

Anyway, Lopunny can't do much damage with Return anyway. It's offensive stats are horrid. Like Claydol.

You're contradicting yourself. You want an attack that relies on the strength of a Pokemon's friendship, but you have a problem with that Pokemon's evolution that relies on the same thing?

And yeah, Heart Scales have been in the games since R/S/E came out, so that's a non-issue.

Use a Luxury Ball to catch it, and give it a Soothe Bell to hold.

There's also a slightly sneaky trick I've discovered, but it seems a tad underhanded to me. Basically, there's a place in the Fuego Ironworks where if you step on one of the moving floor tiles, you'll be moved around in a loop, and end up in a spot that's directly above where you started. The trick is to put Bunneary in your party, put a weight or something on the down button, and leave the DS running plugged in all night, with the character walking around endlessly. You get one happiness point per 256 steps walked, and the Soothe Bell and Luxury Ball only increase that.

I've thought of using the trick myself to do some happiness evolutions, but it sort of seems to miss the point of introducing happiness into the game. =)

Ravagence, ロキさま never said that those Pokemon sucked. He also basically said what you did, that using it offensively isn't very strategical.

As for the Ability question:

Run Away=Cute Charm
Klutz=Klutz

For Hapiness:
Drug it up with berries such as the Tamato berry, get masages at Veilstone and Ribbon Society

For Return:
There is a move tutor. Return is a purchaseable TM if I remember corectly, in the casino, if not, try the Veilstone mall.

I don't really think he's contradicting himself. He wants Loppuny to learn Return, however, he's afraid that he won't be able to raise the Pokemon's happiness before it reaches the level that it would learn Return if it were in it's evolved form.

It's not the pokemon that sucks!!!!!!!!!
It's the way you use it that is not very strategic!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And claydol is one of the most powerful pokemon in R/S/E!!!!!!!!!!!

Strategy has nothing to do with stats. If a Pokemon tries to use a physical attack even though it has a low physical attack stat, the move isn't going to be very powerful.

There are berries that increase a Pokemon's happiness, but they reduce a pokemon's base stat. If you feed them to you Buneary at a low enough level, it's stats won't be reduced as they can't go lower. They lower EV's too, so watch out. These are Pomeg (HP), Kelpsy (Attack), Qualot (Defense), Hondew (Spc. Attack), Grepa (Spc. Defense) and Tamato (Speed).

Does the spinning count as steps, or would it only be the step towards the panels that count? I thought of doing something similiar with the slopes that you need the bike (going fast) to get up. But walking on to it, and falling back down to the tile you were on, doesn't count as a step at all.

No, you come out of the spin eleven tiles above where you went in, so if you're holding the down button, the character will walk those eleven steps, then go back into the loop. Mind you, I haven't tried it for myself - I just read it somewhere.

In fact, the only thing they reduce is EVs (-10 each berry), so the level doesn't actually matter.

You can try breeding Buneary until you get one with reasonable stats like I did. Using the stat-reducing berries that Craig mentioned are perfect for the newborns as they don't have -any- EVs yet so you're not harming anything. You wouldn't be able to use a Luxury Ball with the newborns, but you can equip a Soothe Bell and take Buneary to the Massage Parlors in Veilstone and the Resort Area daily. Checking in with the Footprint guy on the beach east of Pastoria will come in handy once you get a ribbon for Buneary. That's when you know it should be ready to evolve.

I wasn't able to evolve my Buneary by level 2, but I was taking my time then. I'm actually working on an experiment now where I can evolve an Eevee into an Umbreon by lv. 2. It's my last Eevee-lution so I'm just curious to see how happy I can get the little guy before evolving.

So regarding running around on automatic in the Fuego Ironworks, from the area where Mr Fuego is standing, walk right, and there's a tile pointing upwards. If you step on it, it throws directly at the wall thirteen steps away. Hold the "down" button and the character will automatically walk back to the same tile. A better cycle than the loop I mentioned above, as there's more walking per loop, and the amount of time spent spinning is the shortest it can possibly be. I left it running for a while earlier, and managed seventeen thousand steps in about three hours. I could probably have gotten more by holding down the B button as well...

You could probably use that trick to get happiness evolutions by level two, though it still feels a little sneaky to me. I'm using it just to complete my Pokedex - if I wanted to do it properly (as I did for Budew) I'd try for happiness the normal way, with berries and massages and running around.

Yah, I'm about to manage a level two Snorlax by leaving it going all night (sixty-seven thousand steps!), though I couldn't be bothered breeding just to get a level two Lopbunny.

Well after two days of being with Eevee using only a Soothe Bell and the two massage parlors, I was able to get him to evolve into Umbreon by Lv. 2.

Of course I should mention I -did- run around with this Eevee while trying to hatch dozens of other Eevee eggs. I think I stepped around 20,000 steps? I can't remember exactly but that may have boosted happiness quite a bit. That whole hatching procedure took about 3 hours so yeah, three hours of running back and forth through Solceon Town.

If you really wanted to do it quick, I would have used the berries, equip the soothe bell and run around a little while [maybe not more than 5000 steps] and use both massage parlors. That may just about do it.

Without any extra happiness boosters, Pokemon gain one happiness point for every 256 steps while in the party. So to get from zero happiness to maximum happiness, you just need to walk 65,536 steps. Or thereabouts.

Mind you, it's actually somewhat easier than that, since most Pokemon don't start from zero happiness, and you don't need to get them to maximum to evolve them. For most Pokemon (assuming you start from the base happiness level of 70) you only need 38,400 steps to get them happy enough to evolve. Soothe Bells cut that in half, and Luxury Balls should have some effect too, but I'm not entirely sure what it is. Probably halves it again.

well just so you all know, I have 1 badge im in no position to bread, but i'll just look for one

I like Belthazar's loop idea, and I'm gonna use it to level a pick-upper in the daycare. However, for a happiness evo, I'd use the berries, massagges, yada yada.

<.< I just realized this, but why not just use the Vitamin method. Given, it's not the most cost-effective method, but it's still a way to raise the Pokemon's happiness without level-whoring.
