So i caught a buneary not knowing that to evolve,it had to have a certain happiness level.
I was hoping someone could tell me what the most fast and easiest way to get it to that point is.

I've already:
Fed it as much poffins as it will eat.
Its holding the Soothe Bell.
I've walked with it in the park.
It has two ribbons.
It has one heart on the happiness Poketec chart.
I've taken it to the Massage Lady.

other info.
Nature:Naive
Food:Sweet
Level:30

it would be awsome if someone could help me out ASAP.

I had to keep mine in my party for over a week before it got max happiness. And that's with taking it to the Massage Lady every day.

I also got its picture taken at the TV station. Don't know if that helps, but it can't hurt.

Vitamins like Protein and Carbos will also increase its happiness. So will walking somewhere between 200 and 300 steps (I believe) and levelling up. Luckily, Buneary and Lopunny learn the same moves at the same levels, so even if it takes a while, you won't need Heart Scales to learn moves that you missed. I was not quite so fortunate with my Budew.

Er, other way around, but yes, something like that. My mistake.

thanks guys.He evolved almost right after i posted this.

i can't help anyone else cause i really don't know what i did but what i can say is this:
Enter in PokeContest(and win!).
Feed Poffins.
Walk in the park.
Battle w/o loosing.

That's the best way to do it. With mine, I battled with it all the time, healed it when it was poisoned, paralyzed, ect and did pretty much all that you did. Keeping it in the first slot helps alot too.
Congrats on the evolution, BTW!

the beries that take away ev's make pokemon like you more.

No, they're in D/P too. Their effect was introduced in Emerald.

Is there a way to max a pokemon's happiness without battling with it a lot? I always try to evolve those pokemon as soon as possible, but I never seem to do it until after level 20. Obviously, for a pokemon like Umbreon or Espeon, who learn the basic moves of their type at an early level, this is not good.

A generic tip that I have tried: walk around with the pokemon along the same route where it hatched/you caught it -- in the same patch of grass, if possible.

when i was completing my pokedex i can honestly say that one of the hardest pokemon to get was evolving a bunneary into lopunny, the only thing that beat it was jirachi because i lost mine

A Pokemon starts with a happiness value of around 70. Max happiness is 255, but the happiness required for evolution is 220.

Add one to your Pokemon's happiness value for every 256 steps you walk with it. Add two for every level it gains and every vitamin you give it. Add three for getting a massage in Veilstone. Add five for each effort-decreasing berry you feed it. Ribbon Syndicate massages, potions, poffins, contest wins, and probably other things all raise happiness too, but I don't know how much. You can increase all of these values by one if the Pokemon is holding a soothe bell.

dont forget that once it does reach its objective happiness level, you have to level it up for it to evolve.

does it depend on the gender of a buneary?
i did everything in this thread for mine but it HATES me, only one heart on the poketch app.
mine is a girl, should it be easier or harder?

Gender doesn't play a role in raising your Pokemon's Happiness rating, but if it did, I would imagine that in this case, female would actually be the ideal gender, considering what Loppuny are based on.

Also, we already have a thread for this. Same topic, and nearly identical thread names. You should really use the search function more often.

Not all Pokemon start with that value. If I recall, buneary has a happiness value of zero.

Also, why is it that bumping old threads has seem to become an epidemic on this forum, especially the bumping of threads which could have easily been posted in the "Simple Questions" thread?

Please note: The thread is from 17 years ago.
Please take the age of this thread into consideration in writing your reply. Depending on what exactly you wanted to say, you may want to consider if it would be better to post a new thread instead.
