Today's 07/07/07, a highly meaningful day for Bungie, creators of such games as the Halo and Marathon series, Myth 1 and 2, Oni, Pathways into Darkness, and so on and so forth. Fun true facts:
Bungie's first game was GNOP!, a Pong clone.
No fewer than ten of Bungie's games--the Marathon and Halo games, Myth 1 and 2, Oni, and Pathways into Darkness--take place in the same universe at different time periods and on different planets.
The following things are absolutely hilarious to me, and mean nothing to most, far better-learned, people: Ling-Ling's head, seven-step plan to take over the world, Pimps at Sea, disembodied spirit in the server, gorilla webmaster.
So, um, if you're a fan of Bungie like me, sound off! If you aren't, try picking up the hella-free and hella-legal downloads of Marathon 1, 2, and Infinity. Just keep in mind these are old-as-hell games. We're talking Marathon 1 was released at the same time as Doom, and had higher technology, but got no love 'cause it was for the Mac.
