Simple enough thread, also my first thread, are you going to buy it or pass these games?

For me, I may pass, after my disappointment on USUM, Pokemon Go, and the direction this game is seemingly going

Edit: After E3 and more trailers dropping, I'm going to pass, it doesn't interest me that much.

I'll probably buy them because I'm a whore for Pokemon games.

I don't actually mind that they're Kanto remakes. I'm not burned out by Kanto, as it contains my absolute favorite Pokemon of all time (Bulbasaur.) And, despite some weak designs, I'm a huge fan of a ton of Kanto Pokemon (Squirtle, Eevee, Ninetales, Dragonair, Scyther, Lapras, Vileplume, and so many more.)

Plus I've been waiting for Kanto remakes for ages, if only because FRLG are incredibly outdated at this point.

Multiplayer Co-op, multiple save files, overworld Pokemon sprites, dressing up your Starter, Pokemon following you, and riding on larger sized Pokemon are also things that make this an A++++ choice for me. I also assume you'll get other Gen Pokemon in the post-game (like you do in every single Pokemon game ever.)

The major criticisms (Kanto, 151 Pokemon) don't bother me at all and the Pokemon GO catching feature is meh. It's not my favorite thing ever, but it's about as dull as the regular method of catching Pokemon, so it's a lateral move for me.

Buy, although it's by the skin of their teeth. I'm mostly just interested in the one new Pokémon and the co-op feature. Interested enough that I'm willing to give everything else a shot, because I do think a lot of it could work, but were it not for those two specific things, the rest wouldn't have been enough to pull me in.

Of course, there are still five months left in which to promote the games. I suppose that, even if I had not been convinced to buy them now, they could reveal something later on that would have piqued my interest.

I also assume you'll get other Gen Pokemon in the post-game (like you do in every single Pokemon game ever.)

I wouldn't count on that this time, unless they decide to allow DLC at a later point. Masuda said, "In general, it's the original 151, but as we just showed with Alolan Exeggutor, some of the Alolan variants will also appear," and Pokémon GO recently sent out a notification saying that only Pokémon from Kanto could be transferred to the games, even though GO is already two generations ahead. Plus, the leaker who posted accurate information about the games on April 1st later said that Pokémon like Crobat and Pichu were not in the game, and that it was just the original batch.

None of that is absolutely definitive proof that clearing the main storyline doesn't lower the barrier on post-151 Pokémon, but there would seem to be only a very slim chance of that happening.

Of course they're not gonna say that you can get new Pokemon in the post-game. For starters (lolpun,) the games were just announced, what, two days ago? Give them some time. But also, they obviously want to spotlight the Kanto Pokemon right now. They don't want to diminish that by talking about any Pokemon that may appear in the post-game (because why would they talk about the post-game right now anyway?)

This isn't what I wanted, but knowing that the next core game is coming and that the rest of the other Pokemon aren't being wiped out... well, these have grown on me. I didn't want a core RPG Kanto remake, but these aren't so bad. I'll likely pick one up in November.

I'll probably buy it used.
With all the import duties attached with me buying a game from my country, and LGPE currently (emphasising on currently) lacking in content doesn’t justify me buying it for $60+import fees.

I'll probably will not be able to resist it since I cannot wait to start my Pokemon journey on the Switch.

I'm going to buy the Eevee version because I really liked everything that was shown in the trailer. The graphics looked much better and even though some features from a conventional Pokemon game have been removed, it still looks like a really good game to play. Further to that, I think it will be cool to play another game in Kanto and to have an Eevee on your shoulders whilst you're traveling. :)

I'll most likely pass, partly because I don't own a Switch yet, partly cause the game isn't that exciting to me. Kanto is a little been-there-done-that for me, so I don't really feel the need to revisit again. Nonetheless, I am excited for these games cause they really look pretty good and they feel like a preview of what else GF could do on the Switch. Honestly, I don't mind waiting for 2019 if it gets us a good quality Switch game.

What I'm wondering though is if it will incite Go players to get a Switch?

Buying both, no questions. Personally, this is exactly the game I wanted, I called/predicted Yellow remakes and I got them so I'm hyped as hell.

I'll buy this game. The only reason I'm waiting to pre-order it is because I want to know more about each version before I decide which one I'll buy.

Im personally gonna pass. I dont even own a Switch yet so I cant really get it without buying one and 300 bucks is a lot of money to spend. This isnt interesting enough to me. Hopefully the next game will though.
