Hey, Hitler was once Time Person of the Year.

Not unusual, surely.

I'm Ukrainian and Russian myself, and to be honest this shocks me. Why would they even to that? It would insult so many people living in Ukraine and bring back awful memories to many of them.

I doubt it, the Third Reich wasn't without its support in the east. I think there was another force which brought much more misery years later.

Hitler did a lot of good for Ethnic Germans wherever he was, I don't see why he is painted as a villain by people he treated well.

Huss your point about him being times person of the year is mute, its not an endorsement just means that he was influential in the big events of that year.
 
Because even the people he treated well can see some things are unacceptable, like how he treated the people he did NOT treat well?

Plus, the shitfest that fell on them afterwards, from being divided into two countries to being treated like the world's most evil country sure didn't help Johan German think of Hitler as a good guy. Not to mention the various programs like the Hitler Youth that you basically HAD to be a part of, or be looked on with questioning eyes. The general "you have to betray your friend" feeling. Etc. His programs at the beginning weren't bad. It's when he started becoming uber-paranoid and killing everyone that he became a true villain.

My point being that Hitler being the time person of they year was in no way an endorsement. Thats all.
