Sommelier-Detective Dent! Tabunne Disappearance Case!!
On the way to Raimon City, Satoshi and his friends run into a Tabunne who is acting strangely. As it turns out, Tabunne from all over the city are disappearing! Who could be behind this?

Aw, the kids were so cute in this episode. Reminded me of little kids playing make-believe.

If by cute you mean "annoying", I agree. Worst BW episode yet by far.

And for an episode with Dent's name in the title, he did surprisingly little.

It was a little lackluster, yeah. But Dent tried to make use of what screentime he had. But to me, his actions were same-old, same-old.

Yeah, I was pretty bored too. The only other highlight besides Dent being all "It's detective time!" was the Rocket motto, but even that was spoiled by the DP music.

The episode Looks good to me but I think there's just not enough Dento and TR screentime, I was hoping to see them battle. I was just wondering what technique TR use to let Tabunne walking toward their place and why Dento tell Ash to use Roggenrola for. I thought Yanappu/pansage will be in the episode (too bad he's not in this episode, this made me sad because I was waiting for him to come out from the start). I actually love the way Dento introduce himself to TR and how they introduce back.

Filler or not, I found this to be a great episode. The setting was nice, the kids were cool, Gothita was cure, Cilan was awesome with his Detective time and in his entrance talking to Team Rocket and the Audino were cute.

re: BW 035 (038) "Sommelier-Detective Dent! Tabunne Disappearance Case!!" Review Thread

It was...alright. The two kids were only there to show off their respective pokemon but otherwise added nothing of value to the episode.

I was also kind of annoyed by how everyone's eyes were glued to their little iPad things for half the episode when all they had to do was look three feet ahead of them to find out where the pokemon were. They really seemed to make things more difficult than they needed to.

I did like all the Dent detective stuff, but, like Adamant said, he did surprisingly little. If the writers didn't even bother with those two little kids, they would have had enough screentime for him to do more.

They were using a special frequency provided to them by Seger-Hakase.

And while I'm on the subject, I think it's safe to say that Seger-Hakase is pretty much the new Namba-Hakase.

and why Dento tell Ash to use Roggenrola for.

Dongoro can detect waves that human beings cannot, apparently. Dent deduced that the Tabun'ne were being affected by sound waves that only they can hear, so he thought the best way to find the source of these waves is to use a different pokemon that can also detect them.

It was interesting to see all the Audino use different beams at once.

Uh...was this a pure filler? No one evolved or anything? Or was the episode just a bore? First time in a while since I've missed an episode of the anime.

A little bit from column A, a little bit from column B.

You guys need to stop thinking you are getting mindblowing epic episodes each week... it was an alright episode.

re: BW 035 (038) "Sommelier-Detective Dent! Tabunne Disappearance Case!!" Review Thread

I could hardly wait for the screenshots!

Where are the twerps now? If you pardon the pun, I haven't the foggiest.

Pikachu spots one very zonked out Audino. Those eyes...

Ash? You already know what an Audino is. So, uh, why the Pokédex?

Off the Audino goes. As does the fog. That was quick. Also, the group is now faced with an Officer Jenny and two kids. They look maaaad...

The boy's Solosis some sort of Psychic-type attack to try to, uh, extract a confession. Speaking of Solosis, I always wondered what that yellow thing on it was. I thought it looked like a crown from the sprite, turns out it's some sort of curl. Neat.

Lovin' the twerps' 'yearrrrgh!' faces before the title card. Even moreso since Pikachu looks confused and Axew doesn't look the least bit concerned about this situation.

The trio continue to protest their innocence 'til Jenny gets a call. Looks like the group is off the hook!

I'm assuming the detective kids introduce themselves here. No idea what their names could be, but meh.

Eeeee! Gothita! Looks like Iris shares my sentiments. <3

Hehehe, the detective kids have a disagreement. Gothita looks miffed, too! Solosis looks pretty chill.

Another call later, and everyone's at the Pokémon Centre. An Officer Jenny doing policework...wow. 'Scuse me while I collect myself.

Here we go! Cilan wants to help out! It's Detective Time! Iris and Axew's reaction...priceless!

Oh, hang on! Just look at Cilan and Jenny next to each other. Teenagers at a realistic height? In my Pokémon? More likely than you think.

And the detective kids bicker again. Twice. Vitriolic best buds, I take it?

My, what a fancy-looking piece of technology! Haha, Ash looks clueless!

Okie-doke, let's get to investigating. Ah, so they're putting tracking devices on all the Audino. Sure seem to be a lot of Audino in this town...

Ooh, hello. One of the Audino is wandering off. Its Trainer recalls it. That makes the old bloke smarter than 90% of most CoTDs right there. Doesn't work, but hey, he tried and that's what counts.

Wah! An Audino jumps out of a window! Granted, it was less than a metre off the ground, but still...it jumped out of a window!

Now, what about the Audino that Jenny and Cilan are tracking? Ah, there it goes. Next is to track 'em on the [STRIKE]iPad[/STRIKE] digital map.

Solosis and Gothita use their psychic powers to retrieve two of the Audino. What to do about the other one? Why, follow it, of course! The tracker is foolpro--oh, never mind. It fell off. What now?

Cilan seems to have an idea... Roggenrola, eh? Er, yeah, sure. I suppose it is a giant walking ear.

Oh, the two Audino fall into trances again. Shall we follow?

Dum-de-dum, a-walkin' we go... What an odd place for a ladder. Taking the ladder away, Audino? Pfft, like that'd stop Ash. He's such a lovable moron, isn't he?

Heehee, happy Solosis! Well, time to levitate everyone up the cliff! I love the idea of utilising a Psychic Pokémon's powers to their fullest extent. It's awesome!

More disagreements with the kid detectives. Let me guess: 'they have crushes on each other but can't admit it'?

There's a bridge. What could possibly go wrong? Why, the Audino wrecking it, of course! Ka-splash! More levitation, from Gothita this time. Hmm... The boy detective appears to be none too pleased... Gotta ask, why levitate Solosis across? Couldn't it just float to the other side?

D'aww, the girl detective and Iris appear to be best friends now!

A windfarm? No prizes for guessing the Rockets are behind this scheme. Don't have a clue as to why they're doing this, but Professor Seger seems to have come up with it, so it's gotta be good.

Cilan sure knows how to make an entrance, doesn't he?

Jessie and James high-five at the end of the motto. Cool!

I assume that Solosis is using Hidden Power. But what move is Gothita using?

That was Psywave that Solosis used on Yamask, right?

Roggenrola hits the machine with Stone Edge, which sets the Audino free. They're out for blood and blast the ever-living crap outta the machine! Nice use of Audino's varied offensive movepool there, writers! Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Shadow Ball and the others I'm not sure about.

Blah blah blah, the Rockets jetpack away.

All's well that ends well!

I hope we get to see more of Cilan's detective side, there wasn't much of it from what I've seen.

Nobody yet mentioned that the Map/GPS/Controller they used was a reference of the newly announced Wii U? It was really easy to notice it.

Besides that, i liked this episode. Dento FTW.

No it wasn't.

Oh...I guess, to be fair, when I first saw it I was like "lol stealth Wii U advertising!", but there's no way that it's a purposeful reference to a product JUST revealed to the public this week placed into an episode of Pokemon that was animated months ago.

Missing conversation of awesome:
Junsar talking with Dent's brothers, when she's confirming that Dent is the Sanyo Gym Leader.
Pod: What the hell?! He's getting arrested? For what?!
Corn: He what?!

OMG IT'S JUNKO TAKEUCHI'S TAKUYA VOICE. :3 Waaah, Digimon Frontier nostalgia~~~

It's detective time!~ That shot of Dent looking through the magnifying glass is freaking adorable. Oh my god I'm going to make that my icon. Sorry, Kaoru. :T

The return of Iris' catchphrase II!: Mendukusaiiii -___-
Dent is so enthusiastic. :3

What the hell they all get iPads like the Rockets do just to go look for some medic-types? Not cool, Can I get an iPad because I'm studying to be a medic-type? ;___;

Dent, look at you leaning against that railing with all that swag.

Aww they couldn't find the third Tabunne ;_; Dent realizes that the Tabunne could only be taken by another Pokemon. "Dangoro no deban da!~" lolol. Satoshi who the eff did you switch out? "Dan, dan dan dan!" As boring as Dangoro is, its voice is seriously cute. Dent asks Satoshi to use Dangoro because Dangoro can hear frequencies beyond a normal human's hearing capacity. Iris' sarcasm during this episode makes me giggle.

Satoshi becoming the buttmonkey in this episode is decently amusing.

Now I know why the team is never allowed to have a competent Psychic type because they are seriously broken. Forest in the way? NO PROBLEM. have psychic type FLY everyone over with Psychic :T

MamoMiya says "Finale" very Italian. But of course he pronounces it FinaRe. ...Lolol

Oh hello Rockets! Hisashiburi. Oh wait, you appeared in the last episode didn't you. ...`-```

MamoMiya went into his Light voice O_O LOLOLOL.

Oh yeah, Junsar, you can really catch up to people flying away on jetpacks.

"Good taste!~" Bah. Is it just me but... Well, Dent has to do a lot of yelling in the anime. MamoMiya sounds like he's straining his voice to do some of Dent's parts. He better tone it down or else he might damage it o_o. I've been noticing that the delivery of Dent's lines seems like it's a bit of a struggle. The quality of the voice acting hasn't decreased, but it just sounds like it could indicate a problem later.

LOL THE KIDS GOT OWNED.
"Dangoro was obviously better than either of these baby Espers. Obviously

re: BW 035 (038) "Sommelier-Detective Dent! Tabunne Disappearance Case!!" Review Thread

So much for "Detective Cilan" taking the case. The majority of the equipment that was used in this investigation was provided by the Officer Jenny. Ash and the boy COTD were in one group, Iris and the girl COTD were in the second, and Cilan and the Officer Jenny were in the third group. With the permission of the Audinos' trainers, Ash and co. place trackers on each of the tamed Audino to track their movements if they become hypnotized again. The two COTDs were enlisted in the case to have their Psychic-type pokemon levitate the Audino if they decide to escape again.

Cilan's only deduction from this episode was that the Audino were hypnotized because of a special soundwave that only certain pokemon can hear, and suggests that Ash's Roggenrola (who is also capable of detecting those waves) to lead the group to the source.

The majority of the conflict in this episode resulted from the two COTD trainers, who insist that their Psychic-type pokemon is better than the other in the investigation. The two pokemon were very useful in the case, and have helped the group out several times during the episode.

As expected, yet another TRio two-on-two battle with Woobat and Yamask... At least the COTDs are handling this one and showing off their Psychic-type pokemon. Ash finally decides to assist them using his Roggenrola. The attacks clash, causing the soundwave-generating machine to break.

All seven Audino apparently used the following moves: Shadow Ball, Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Solarbeam, Secret Power, and Hidden Power.

Once again, TRio "blasts off" with their jetpacks.

The subject of the Live Caster this time is Litwick.

This episode was meh, and not surprisingly, Cilan did not receive a lot of focus at all. It is a shame that none of the main group had the access of Psychic-type pokemon, because this would have made a lot of their problems much easier. The two COTDs and their pokemon did the bulk of the work.

The Rocket-Dan seriously need to teach their pokemon some new attacks. I can't be the only one sick of seeing Gust and Shadow Ball being used over and over.

All tablet devices are not Wii U controllers.

Anyone else think that the Village-of-the-day (Votd, '_') was the Wobbuffet village redone, while the trackers on the Audino were similar to the time in Hoenn when the COTDs placed a tracker on the Trapinch to find the Trapinch Paradise? If so, this is an even lamer eppy because it is a blatant copy of 2 older plots badly smushed together.

Overall an ok episode but not as fantastic as it could have been

Good points

+ Dento's personality chip was definitely on. His antics and overdramaticness were funny throughout.
+ The two CotD and Jenny were present, i.e. they had some personality. Nice moments for each of them.
+ Team Rocket had tiny tiny hints of a personality here, like they're not complete robots... tiny...

Bad points

- Iris was boring the crap outta me with her debbiedownerness, and if it's possible, Dangoro bored me even more. Once again, it proved to be a rock that can't emote or be interesting to save its life.
- What the hell was up with the ipads? Tabunne are freaking huge and are three feet in front of you... YOU DON'T NEED THE IPAD

Overall, a blah episode but the spice of Dento's antics gave it some flavour!

Pod: What the hell?! He's getting arrested? For what?!
Corn: He what?!

Did that really happen? If so, win.

Dent, look at you leaning against that railing with all that swag.

LOL yes.
