I hope that once it evolves, Roggenrolla/Boldore will actually get some more development. A bit random that it is evolving when it has hardly even featured, but oh well... fingers crossed it improved. And fingers crossed that Snivy, Oshawott, Swadloon and/or Palpitoad appear in the Gym Battle.

Its funny how Ash beats an Excadrill here, yet loses to Iris' Excadrill in the tournament.

Are we expected to believe Clay's Excadrill is weaker than Iris'?

Dangoro barely got any focus at all, so why is it evolving? :-/ They could have reserved this evolution for Tsutarja or Mijumaru, but noooooo...

Its basically Kanto again, the reserves evolve quickly with no training, like Krabby ----> Kingler in kanto.

This ain't DP, folks! We're back down to Kanto levels.

It's interesting that if the Deino episode had not been delayed..we could have had possibly 5 badges in 1 year.

One Problem.

Ash lost to Iris' Excadrill while using an Electric-type that had no effective moves plus two useless ones.

Ash beat Clay's Excadrill with a Rock-type that knows a super effective move.

That was more of a case of type advantage. Ash probably had learnt from the experience (maybe what they had been intending to do all along) and decides to try his other Pokemon in order to defeat it. Roggenrolla/Boldore stands more of a chance of defeating an Excadrill than Pikachu does.

Has Satoshi battled with Dangoro at all since he caught it...? Maybe we'll see some training battles with it before the gym match, then.

That scene of Satoshi hugging Gantle is pretty adorable, though.

Agreed. Dangoro has just never battled under Satoshi. He was called to throw dirt on a fire, pick up waves and push a wagon, but hasn't actually been in a battle yet and it seemingly evolves, stars in the battle and wins a badge for Satoshi... Glad we got an evolution but I wish it had come before the gym rather than during coughkurumayubullshit2.0cough That being said, I can't express how glad I am that his face will no longer look like an asshole and that he seems to be getting a personality upgrade upon evolving. Now, I might actually start liking a pokémon on Satoshi's team not named Zuruggu XD

Satoshi hugging Gantle and it smothering him reminds me why I like Satoshi : )

No, the Sanyou gym episode was in 2010. Still, 15 months into the saga and 5 badges... we're breezing through the region. I would not be surprised to see the League close to year's end or beginning of 2013.

I really don't care how it evolves, after all we've sat and watched gym leader's pokemon evolve during battles that ended up giving Ash trouble, why shouldn't his pokemon be allowed to do the same thing?

Of course...I see one negative backlash from this spoiler comic, and it ain't about Dangoro evolving...

On the bright side at least that means his voice will change (Hopefully....). Sorry, but I can't stand Dangoro's english voice.

Rock smash join Attract and HyperBeam in the categories of "Attacks I'm so very sick of seeing all the time" or that Satoshi can beat a Gym Leader's Doryuuzu but not Iris' Doryuuzu making it seem like Iris is stronger than a Gym Leader. Weirdly enough, the former bothers me a lot more than the latter.

Has anyone else noticed how Boldore seems to be tackling Ash in the bottom left panel? Do you think we are going to get a new recurring gag of Boldore tackling Ash?

It actually reminds me of what Snorlax or Muk used to do, they use to hug Ash and fall on top of him which is what is happening in that pic with Boldore too.

Wow. I expected Dangoro/Roggenrola to evolve, but not this early. Still, it's great that it's actually battling.

For some reason I'm getting a vibe that this is a one on one battle. Either that or Dangoro/Roggenrola just plows through Clay's team like Krabby did *shot*
