I had just heard on local channel WMAR-TV ABC 2 Baltimore, MD that the Orange County, CA wildfire has been ruled an arson.

Honestly, I'm not surprised. Santa Ana's on a drought year must be like Christmas for arsonists.

MAN!!! At school its SO hot because of the fire, and there's all this ash and bad air. But the sky looks cool.

I'm so glad I live in MI, sorounded by a bunch of lakes. Who could just set a fire like that?!

As unfortunate as arson sounds, that's not necessarily the only ruling. Most large widespread wildfires do eventually get linked to arson, but for the this particular one, the fire was divided into a number of different areas across the San Diego region. One of the fires in San Bernardino Valley is currently being linked to a suspicious man while the one in Grass Valley was apparently natural. In cases as large as these, it should be less about who did it and more of 'what can we do to clean up.'

And witnesses last night allegedly saw a Hesperia man sparking a fire near Silverwood Lake in the San Bernardino Mountains. The man was later arrested on suspicion of arson and is being held on $750,000 bail at West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga.
...
The Grass Valley Lake fire has been ruled not arson related, said Cindy Beavers, a sheriff's spokeswoman.
