Can EVs be unlearned?

First off, hello! BG looks like a nice community, and I hope to gain from and contribute to it.

I have pearl version, and the team I raised was done with no consideration to IVs, EVs, or natures. I just played the story with my starter and whatever pokes I liked that I came across. Beat the E4, looked around that northern island, and that's about it. I'm now entertaining the idea of doing more competitive stuff, like running the battle tower to earn goodies, and MAYBE playing with real people! I want to know what the IVs of my team are, but I have no clue what EVs they have gained. Can EVs be reset, or IVs be figured out without knowing what the EVs are? I dunno how taboo hacking devices are here, but if that's what it takes to even know how good my fave pokes are, I might buy one and use it.

The following berries subtract EVs from their according stats.

Pomeg = HP
Kelpsy = Attack
Qualot = Defense
Hondew = Sp. Attack
Grepa = Sp. Defense
Tamato = Speed

If the stat has over 100 EVs, the berry brings the number down to 100. If the EVs are counted at 100 or lower, the berry subtracts 10 EVs.

And in case you don't know a pokémons ev's, you give a pokémon 11 of each of those berries and then you're pokémon will be ev free.
