Can N's character be handled well in the anime?

N's character is pretty different from what we're use to seeing in the anime. Do you think his goal of separating humans and pokemon would work in the anime? He believes that pokemon shouldn't be forced to fight under a trainer's command and should be set free. Can the anime handle that? I don't think it would be that easy because in a way he's right about "pokemon shouldn't be forced to fight and be held captive" but how would Ash + co react to that? Do you think they'll go into his backstory about how he was raised by only beng around mistreated pokemon?

He'll be treated horribly, just like every other Team Boss.....

And since he hasn't made an appearance yet, he's definitely not going to get good treatment at this rate.

The separating human and Pokemon thing probably won't get a backstory...as usual.

Horribly may be an understatement. Now only his goal, but his personality will be handleded wrongly. They'll just make him bland and generic. DX

Re: Do you think N's character can be handled will in the anime?

I can't see him in the anime. The BW series has already missed major points from the games, and even then it doesn't have the same flow.

They should just take out the whole Plasma part, or create new Plasma villains..

But when N comes in, I can see his personality being greatly simplified. Greatly simplified and altered.

Re: Do you think N's character can be handled well in the anime?

I think he can be handled well if the writers try hard enough. At this point though there's no telling how Team Plasma will be treated. N is one of the most interesting "villains" in Pokemon and I'd hate for his character to get ruined.

Hell to the maybe. Well they did pull off paul so they can but will they NO

Re: Do you think N's character can be handled well in the anime?

N being a much more extreme version of what the protagonist is supposed to be is possible in the anime, although I oddly don't see them getting too much into "is pokemon training right or wrong?" territory. Then again DP showed that they can play around with grey areas a bit. In a way, this series is already about the bonds between humans and pokemon. Ash already knows them, Iris has to learn them, and Cilan, while he is a good judge of the bond, he doesn't fully understand it yet. He's getting there, though. Trip, we don't know enough about yet, but I wager that he is too preoccupied with power rather than truly forming a bond with his pokemon. N and Plasma crew would be interesting, but I don't think they would cause the moral dilemma you think they would. Some may question their ways, but according to the anime, Ash already loves his pokemon, and they are loyal to him in return. There is no dilemma there. For anyone else, that is up for debate.

Sadly, I don't think the anime would be able to pull off N. That's why a part of me doesn't want him to even appear at all, because I'd hate to see any part of his character get butchered. He was seriously my favorite character, and the most interesting one, in White. There's still a chance that the writers would be able to do him justice, but I just don't see it happening. He's just too complex of a character. I'd love to be proven wrong, but...eh. I don't think it will happen.

Re: Do you think N's character can be handled well in the anime?

I hope they don't make N a boring and stereotypical enemy. I mean, look at how they treated Steven, the freaking champion of Hoenn.
I don't think N's character is something that the anime is used to doing. All the psychological trauma he's been through as a child because of the actions his father did to him won't really fit into Pokemon in my opinion. I do want N to appear but not of his characters gets screwed up.

Re: Do you think N's character can be handled well in the anime?

If N does show up I don't think they'll mention his past, or they'll probably tone it down a bit. I don't think his past is too bad but at the same time I can see how it wouldn't fit into the anime. They could still explain how he only grew up around pokemon who were mistreated.

Re: Do you think N's character can be handled well in the anime?

They may use the 7 sages instead of N as the main leaders of Team Plasma, with possibly an orchestrated version of Dennis's battle theme.

And Wallace.

The anime just does what it wants, screw game canon.

Re: Do you think N's character can be handled well in the anime?

They usually handle the bosses pretty well. Maxie and Archie were really the only examples that weren't handled well because they only showed up in their finales. Cyrus and Giovanni were handled good. Plus the anime can show some dark stuff once in a while. Cyrus was just about ready to risk his team's lives just for his own selfish goal. If they feel that N needs to be toned down then they can do it, but I don't think his past is too bad for pokemon standards.

Re: Do you think N's character can be handled well in the anime?

It's not that his past isn't too much for the Pokemon anime, it's just not something that the anime is used to working with. N went through a lot of psychological trauma because of what Ghetsis did to him as a child. I don't think that would fit into the anime very well.

Re: Do you think N's character can be handled well in the anime?

I had a hard time believing someone like N could fit in an E/3-rated game, especially in the end when one finds out how he was raised and for what reason.
(For that matter, Ghetsis too for making him that way)

But I'm sure, even if it means cutting some corners, they'll figure how to work him in the show and keep that equivalent-to-TV-Y7 rating. I can't say if they'll do him justice, though.

Re: Do you think N's character can be handled well in the anime?

I don't think N's character was too bad for the games. The Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games have a lot more dark things going on. In fact you actually die in the game. Plus Japan has different standards than the US has about what they consider too much for a kids show. Shows like One Piece and Naruto that have blood and death in them are considered kids/teen shows while they'd get a PG+ rating here. Like I said before, they could tone down his past a bit if they felt it was too much.

Re: Do you think N's character can be handled well in the anime?

I've got a feeling he's just going to be made into a typical villain in the anime. Of course, if they do, I might stop watching it in protest!

Re: Do you think N's character can be handled well in the anime?

of course he can! But he needs a solid number of episodes! Like Paul had! It s all about the number of episodes! If you give him 5-7 episodes or 10-15 eps its a difference! I like the characters design and act in the games! I would love to see him! ;) Kicking ass with Purrloin!

Re: Do you think N's character can be handled well in the anime?

They can still keep the fact that he released the pokemon he battles with because everytime you battle him he has a different pokemon on his team. But I honestly don't think his past is too much for the anime.

The anime isn't used to dealing with characters who are messed up in the head like N was. Like I said before, his backstory wouldn't really fit into the show that much.
