Can the DS recieve communication to GBA games? Eg. downloading Pokemon 'tickets' at Nintendo events? I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the tickets were deployed to Emerald on the DS at some recent Nintendo event.

The reason I'm asking is I'm making a petition to Nintendo Australia to have Pokemon events here as I really need Mew. [Australia hasn't had an event for Deoxys, Lugia/Ho-Oh, Celebi, Mew, Eon Ticket or anything in the Advanced generation...] It would be a lot easier to just ask them to have Pokemon downloads during the DS tour rumoured to happen in June/July.

I doubt it. The DS receives any downloads wirelessly, while the GBA requires a link cable to get its information. The two just aren't compatible like that.

The only way I can think of it working is if Nintendo was somehow able to create a DS "game" that would sort of trick the GBA slot into thinking that the information it's receiving wirelessly is coming from a GBA link cable. I have no idea how feasible that would be, though.

What about the GBA Wireless connector, Dogasu? I mean, that still involves the Link Cable attachment, but I'm sure they could devise a cartridge like the one you described with that kind of hardware in it, or at least some attachment that could be stuck into the slot.

It actually isn't suppose to but some Hackers actually got it to with an update using a flashme expansion.

It's been done at least once in Japan, at PokéPark, where a DS was shown to be able to emulate the GBA Wireless Connector for GBA games inserted in it, though the actual wireless signal which made the download possible wasn't a GBA Wireless Connector signal.
