A few weeks back, someone hacked into my LJ and Gmail accounts and gave me quite a scare. Luckily, they didn't think to change the secondary email account I associated with my Gmail so I was able to get control of my Gmail and LJ accounts again. I changed all my passwords, locked my LJ and hoped for the best.

Sadly, I think it happened again last now with my Gmail account. I don't know how the hacker found my new password, but he did. And now he was smarter, because Gmail won't recognize my Hotmail account as associated with my Gmail account anymore.

So... what do I do about it? :-|

Unfortunately, I'm not sure there is that much you can do. An option would be to contact Google, though considering that your account has been compromised, providing password details may be ineffective.

Maybe the security questions didn't change? Google may be able to at least halt the account if you can convince that it's been compromised. You'll be very lucky if they can give it back to you.

Other than that, your best option now is to start new. Just keep a close eye on the activity of your other account. It's tough to open a locked door without so much as a backup key.

I was really lucky this time. I contacted Gmail with all my information (thank goodness for my photographic memory) and they contacted me back very fast! Thanks to their intervention, I was able to regain control of my account in no time.

Now I changed my password AND my security question. If I get hacked again, I'm going to kill someone. :disgust:

If your account gets hacked again, don't bother. Sign up for another web mail service. If that gets hacked, then the hacker probably has control over your computer. There is a 75% chance that the hacker is Russian, by the way.

That's what happened to me a couple weeks ago by a white guy at my school. He got into my account and then after he did that, he was chatting with some of my classmates in class when the teacher had allowed us to use the computers for research and to do an English project. I heard about it with a friend and I chased him afterwards even though he still got suspended from school. I'm probably talking about that other week, but I managed to alter my password in the end just to make sure it doesn't happen again. Btw, how does 1 person know someone else's password so well so that they could hack it?

What the fuck? Where in the hell did you get 75% from?

What does his skin color have to do with anything?

You sure he didn't just look over your shoulder while you were typing?

By chance, do you have any idea HOW they hacked into those accounts? Might be the basis for how it happened again, and will certainly increase your odds of being able to avoid a third attack (depending on how it was hacked).

I guessed on the percent but a lot of Russian hackers are stealing money and stuff like that from us on the computer. There is one that is 12 yrs old that stole 30,000 dollars or something like that from an American over his laptop and the Russian papers are praising him, as I've heard.:disgust:

Skin color in fact has nothing to do with it. It was just the person's color skin that got into my account. The person was actually white and I think he was Russian as well. He's just some white little fag. I tend to ignore his faggot ass some time when I don't like what he says.

No! Truthfully to be honest, he was the one in the classroom with all the computers while I was in another classroom with no computers at all. HE probably did it while I was at the weight room and nothing else. He doesn't sit or walk by me anyway so he couldn't have looked over my shoulder. Besides this was just a rhetorical question in response to the first poster since it says something specific about the Gmail account or password being new and some person getting into his account.

Edit: Oh Sorry! Her! Didn't know this person was a girl.

You got what you deserved...

Try and find out who hacked your account. That is the only option. If you get control of you G_mail account again. Change your password every day so that hacker won't come back.
