Here we put our foot on the pedal, shift to 6th gear and discuss cars and bikes. From Model T-Fords to Nissan Skylines, from drifting to tuning up, from 0 to 60 in 2.3 seconds.

Feel free to show of your vehicles, get advice, share videos and just have a good chat with other petrol heads.

I can't say I've ever had any interest in cars or other automobiles, for some reason they've just never appealed to me. There are certainly cars that look interesting, even some I'd consider driving one day. I don't particularly ever have any plans on learning to drive, though.

I'm gonna learn to drive eventually haha, when I have the money for lessons. I'm not interested in cars either, but I know others here are, hence the discussion haha.

Who wouldn't wanna drive this badass?

oh yeah such a wide palette i know whatcha mean

I'm probably going to get my mom's 2007 Honda Accord when I get old enough to drive. :I I don't really have any interest in driving, but I know I'll have to learn. I'm not planning to get in the Student Driver seat right as soon as I come of age.

A Lambo! The Reventón, too. I'm a big fan of Lambos...I actually prefer their designs to Ferrari's.

Speaking of Lamborghinis:

84518.jpg

The Sesto Elemento. At least $2.2 M. Gets to 100km/h in 2.5 seconds. Power-to-weight ratio of 1.75 kg per horsepower. Body is made almost entirely out of carbon fiber.

That's insane. Sadly, it's not road legal.

It mas originally meant to be just a concept car, but a bunch of rich people probably phoned Lamborghini and told them that they'd throw this much money at them for one. Thus, a few were manufactured. Only 20.

Seriously considering a Vespa. 50% of the population has two wheelers, cars are useless in the city thanks to the lack of parking and inane traffic caused by the major streets being segmented thanks to work on the metro, and with a bike you can zoom in between cars. If not a vespa, at least something that isn't 50cc's, screeches like a hog in a slaughterhouse and looks like a 10 year old riding a super mini.

And it's 4WD too. Historically, the LM002 (Rambo Lambo) was the first 4WD vehicle made by Lamborghini, and the latest 4WD Lamborghini is the Aventador. The 4WD was installed in Sesto Elemento to improve grip on the ground, and thus less likely to spin out.

I'm 20 and still don't have a licence. So nothing wrong with not getting a licence right away as soon as you're of driving age. Though my little brother is 17 and got his licence as soon as he turned 16 and now has his own car. So this gives me motivation to get my licence soon so I can have my own car. His car is a silver 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse

I'm probably not gonna go for something as elaborate or sporty when I pick my first car, though I want something pretty nice. As long as it's not my dad's 2005 Dodge Caravan. That's a piece of crap. Also I'd like it if I get something relatively new, at least from this century so 2000 or newer would be good. I'd be fine with something like Ford Focus or Fiesta or a Camry as long as it's nice looking and somewhat cool.

Though honestly, I don't see myself driving and don't have much interest in it. However, I hate having to ask everyone to drive me places, so I know I eventually will have to learn how if I want to take myself to get to places.

YEA! one of the few cars form Japan i like (even though it was designed and engineered by chrysler and built in IL).

i Currently have at my disposal, my Moms 1997 Saturn SL1, my dads 2000 ford taurus, my dads 2001 chevy astro and my moms 2012 chrysler 200. i dont own a car yet but im saving up for either a GM F or Z Body, a celica, an eclipse or Eagle Talon, a 90s civic, or a 3000gt or dodge stealth. im not much for imports on both sides of the pond unless they are the Nissan Skyline or a Ferrari or lambo,. I do wish GM would sell the Vauxhall/Opel Adam in the states. It looks a lot cooler than the Chevy Spark

So, I drive a pretty normal car, but when I'm not working and I just want to ride around town, I hop on this little weirdo.

Any other bikers or scooter riders in here?

Looks like an older Honda scooter

I currently dont ride scooters but i would like to get something like a Honda Metropolitan someday. one reason why i havent is that I trust myself but not others on the road (such as the lady talking on her phone while driving her Nissan Armada). Also ohio weather and roads are not the most friendlyest for bikes. but i do hope to be on a scooter in the future

Yep! It's a 1986 Honda Aero 50. I was wanting an older 2 stroke scooter, and I really liked the body style of the Aero, so I searched for a while, got screwed on one, then ended up with this one.

The Metropolitan has a very nice look, and being a Honda, it'll be reliable. Also, more reputable shops will be willing to work on it as opposed to the cheaper Chinese scooters. The most important thing is to try to stick to roads that aren't as busy, and keep a constant lookout while out riding. Sure there's risks, but the enjoyment of the ride far outweighs them in my opinion. As for the weather and roads, that's definitely a downside I would imagine. As long as you don't have too many steep hills, you should be okay. As for roads that aren't really that great (holes, etc), you should be okay for the most part. I ride around mostly in the suburbs of Atlanta, but I have ridden down into the city a few times as well (back roads, or course, these 50cc scooters aren't legal for the highway), and I haven't really had much issue with the roads. I do find that if I don't have speed going into a somewhat steep hill, I will slow down a bit, but that might just be the age of my engine.

Anyways, if you decide to go with a scooter (and the Metropolitan would probably be a fun choice or for a similar style, the Yamaha Vino), have fun!

Also, give this site a browse, as you can find info (as well as pros and cons) of various scooters, new and old. It might help you make a good sound decision as to what kinda scooter may be in your future. Honda Scooter Index | Motor Scooter Guide

Ohio has potholes that either look like someone dropped a heavy slab of concreat and buckled the road or we have the holes that are similar to someone blasting holes in the pavement in which the holes can be as deep as 5 inches and wide as 2.5 feet.

My dream scooter is a Vespa but its just a teeny tiny bit too expensive... Oh well for me personally i think i would rather have my dream Mitsubishi Eclipse (minus the regular maintience that includes timing belts, AWD transfer cases and an $8000 turbo replacement) or a Saturn coupe, tune it and MUGEN it out.

WOO LORDY! Yeeeeah, a bumpy ride like that can be a bit....interesting. As for the holes, you'll definitely be having to do some create maneuvering.

A Vespa would be nice, but I'm in the same boat. I'd want something vintage from the 70's, but if it's running and in good shape, it'll be pricy. If it's not running, it's usually in such poor shape that it'll be one helluva expensive job to get back up and running. Maybe eventually a used Genuine Stella will be easier to afford, as it's pretty much a vintage Vespa.

And yeah, a Mitsubishi Eclipse can be a bit of a job to keep up and running in a proper way. I remember seeing quite a few of them years ago that had the worst black smoke coming out the pipes. *shudder*

Personally, some cars that I really would love to have are either of the 80's model of the Mazda RX7, as they really are fun, or the mid 90's Honda Del Sol. I kinda have a thing for its back window that goes down and the top that you can take off. Like a convertible, but with less chance of someone knifing it open to get what's inside.

Yea with the DSMs if they are abused then its curtians but ive seen plenty hit over 140,000 miles with out too much issues. I want to take a Delsol and custom Fabricate the rear into a pickup bed because the del sols remid me of a small lowered pickup. even though my skills at manual shifting are improving, if i were to get a Del sol id swap the tranny for an auto. As much as i did enjoy driving my Uncle's 2013 Ford focus ST Hatch and my firends 91 VW jetta, the main thing i have issues with is properly syncing from taking off the clutch and adding gas. but thats just me. Some other cars i like are the GM F Bodys (firebirds and camaros), the very shop prone Mazda Rx8 and Dodge Stealth. also the Civic hatchbacks and the 1988-2005 toyota celicas are also cars i do enjoy. though the Celica is the only toyota id ever buy. I will never buy a new toyota after the huge recalls and the "Gundam" Corolla , neon geneisis evangelican Prius and Toyota's Anime shorts that were very painfull to watch. RIght now im aiming to get an eclipse or eagle talon. my second choices would be the celica, Saturn coupe, or the F bodys. I still am very ticked at mitsubishi for killing the eclipse. i also hate the current Evo also. the previous generation was my favorite sedan of all time but they just HAD to change it. Oh well when i win the lottery, i guess ill see about getting an Alfa Romeo (that is if it dont rust out entirly and if it will start).

A Del Sol with a pickup bed would be interesting, and the trunk is definitely long so it would be interesting to see it done. I've had two El Caminos in the past, so a car with a pickup bed definitely is something that I'm used to. As for the manual shifting, I'm okay with it. Never actually owned a manual, but I worked for a used car lot years ago and I was able to get some hours with some manuals.

Firebirds and Camaros are definitely fun cars. I kinda think an older Trans Am (think Smokey and the Bandit) would be fun to drive around. I also am with you on the Toyota Celica. Years ago, a mechanic had offered to give me an early 80's Celica with a blown engine, but unfortunately I didn't have the time or money to have someone put an engine in it, so I never got it.

As for the Alfa Romeo, that would be fun. If I were to win the lottery, the cars that I would want would definitely increase (and there would probably be some sort of Porche in my future in that case).

I do enjoy a fun car, and I've had some neat cars in my lifetime (and some boring but dependable ones as well). Sadly, the cars that have been the most fun to drive have also been the ones to have the most issues (when I was a teenager, I had a mid 80's BMW 528e that smoked more than a cigar fanatic, but man it was so much fun to drive around!). I currently own a 2000 Lincoln LS, and while it's a pretty normal car to look at, it's a lot of fun to drive. Sadly, it's already needed a transmission rebuild at less than 60k miles, and most recently I've had to get $1200 worth of suspension work done to it, and it will probably need even more done to the suspension in the future.
