It just captioned "forget" as "fa'-get". I think captioning accents is going a bit too far.

Edit--watching the ep now. Clara said "land sakes"--can you get more stereotypical old person?

And so Turtwig is Bulbasaur 2?

And Geodude sounds exactly the same as it did under 4Kids. Didn't Eric Stuart do its voice?

Edit2--"The world will be our Cloyster"? laaaaame.

IT MOTHER FUCKING EXPLODED!

Wow!

Yup...that made the episode for me. And I love Turtwig and Carnivine's voice, both are made of win. :)

Both courtesy of your friendly neighborhood Jimmy Zoppi.

And no, Stuart voiced Golem, but Michael Haigney voiced Geodude.

Turtwig is Bulbasaur's brother, appearantly. But at the same time, he manages to have some unique traits. He's less stubborn and more goofy and willing to make new friends. He's Turtwig is definetly not the cutest starter, but he's so adorable in his own special way. Looking at those ittle wittle legs! BD

So, erm, that's the infamous Carnivine explosion? Not... as extreme as you would have us believe, Habu. ^^;

The story was mediocre. And once again, the episode went be really fast. That's either a sign that I like it or hate it...

What in the world was the purpose of that Linoone other than to have Brock particpate in the episode and have Turtwig prove even further that it's kind-hearted? It's like those kids with the starters last episode. What exactly was their purpose aside from filling time?

While I love the new Pokédex's design, there's something off with its voice. I swear I heard "Linoone, the Russian Pokémon". XD Bring back Battle Frontier's Dexter, gosh darn it.

Yup, the animation was really good. It was so stylistic and... edgy. I forgive OLM for last episode. Ash in particular seemed very uniquely animated. It also established a different style like AG did. It may be just me, but I associate Hoenn with yellows and oranges. With Sinnoh, I'm thinking greens and blues. Don't know what it is, but Sinnoh- like every other saga- is giving off an individual vibe to me.

For some reason I laughed when the old woman couldn't keep up with the twerps.

Yuck, the music compostion's still awful.

Ash manages to look older than every before. Cool. :D Diggin' his new clothes. His voice was also really great to me here for some reason. Although it's not intentional, the voice really works to make him seem aged. Works a lot better now than it did in BF. Sarah still needs to work with gasps and grunts, though.

Lame story, good everything else. An 8/10.

Also, Kayzie Rogers was back as Mime Jr.; I think she also voiced Clara, but I didn't get to listen too thoroughly. I wonder how they're gonna go about handling her roles; half the DP eps so far have Michelle Knotz and archive clips filling in for her Pokemon roles, while here and the 3rd ep, she does it herself.

Blehhhhh.....pretty dull episode. Turtwig is cute though.

Another poor performance from Sarah....and James was really bad today too....sigh.....at least Carnivine's voice is good.

This is probably overall the worst episode of D/P. It's also probably the most boring capture episode in the entire series.

I'm hoping Turtwig evolves sooner rather than later...because at least its second form looks a hell of a lot cooler and gives Ash a tank.

I liked Turtwig's personality that was shown in this episode. I'm not sure why people are complaining THAT much about it.

It's like those kids with the starters last episode. What exactly was their purpose aside from filling time?
To hint at a possible future evolution for Piplup, I would say. Happened in Hoenn when May met that Combusken while she still had Torchic, and liked the idea of having a Combusken herself.

I think we should combine all the review threads for the week in this one thread to avoid cluttering up the forum too much...

What I'm most interested in this week is the issue of Croagunk, and how they'll handle him voice-wise. He doesn't really say his name in the original, just makes that cool sound with his vocal sacs and the occasional grunt or snicker. It'd be pretty easy to get away with leaving it as it is, but that's what they said about Corphish and Psyduck. Still, it wouldn't be so bad if they find the right voice for him, but my senses are saying they'll just resort to Jimmy Zoppi (Croa... Gunk... Croa... Gunk... Croa...) Sigh...

episode:DP005,Gettin Twiggy With It!

I do agree that this episode was plain and kind of boring, but still liked it.

As the episode went further you can see how much alike turtwig and ash's bulbasaur are, they both helped other pokemon in need, they both are strong, they are both grass type, they are both stubborn and the list goes on, if there is a 5th generation i am sure turtwig will help bulbasaur keep the other grass type pokemon from fighting in professor oaks lab area, they will be the grass type duo!

If they continue a cycle that ash's grass pokemon are going in turtwig will not evolve and the next generation pokemon will evolve once and the next will evolve twice and then it goes around again.

Ash's Turtwig will probably evolve, the writers aren't scared shitless about evolving Pokemon anymore like they were in the Johto era.

Ash's new Turtwig rules. It was so funny watching Pikachu swing it around by the tail! A crowning moment right out of the box...er...ball. Whatever.

Oh, and I really hope Turtwig evolves sooner or later (preferably sooner).

Edit: Oh, what am I saying? Of course it will! It's too cool not to!

It seems like, before the twerps showed up, Turtwig was the only company the old lady ever had. Then Ash caught it and left.

Hm.

Did they happen to show what caused that Linoone to get so beat up?

ETA - Of course this would be top paged.

The battle between Pikachu and Turtwig was neat. That sound the played when Pikachu was slamming Turtwig back and forth was good for a few laughs.

Altogether kind of bland, but somehow the highlights of this episode made it good. Turtwig is pretty awesome, I loves the scene where it bit onto Pikachu's tail. The whole biting thing in general was pretty cute. Bowing and apologizing to Ash and Pikachu was adorable.

Other then that, it was an OK episode.

Boring episode, but I totally burst out laughing when Turtwig launched at full speed at the lady's face. I knew it was going to happen, but still, it's hilarious.

N DEN SHE PULZ DA STIC DOWN N TURTLEWIG IS ON IT LOLL!!!!!!!!!2

Yeah. The old people on the show always rock!

Whats with Pokemon and headbiting now anyways? Carnivine's all up on James' head, Turtwig bites Ash and old ladies, and Gardenia throws her head into Carnivine to be bitten.

Hmmm...
