OK, so the ratings for the new cartoon network "reality TV" shows are bombing.

The network's suggestion? It's not because the shows are derivative ripoffs of reality TV shows that were old five years ago repackaged with 13-year olds, it's because of that damn "Cartoon" in the network name. Simply change the name to something like "RealKidz" and you'll be rolling in the money.

Also, they're canceling production of pretty much every cartoon series on the network.

Prepare to see a network go down in flames, people.

I'm going to play the skeptic and wait for an offical news story on this, especially that it's an anonymous source on a not-well known website.

.... noooooo

Okie, I'm going to seriously SERIOUSLY hope this isn't true or accurate news. o.o

Because news on dA is possibly the best source ever Zeta.

When a reliable source comes, BN will see to it.

I'll wait and see too.

However, I could imagine the idiots running Cartoon Network doing something like this. These are the same people who got rid of Naruto so they could show reruns of Total Drama Island. Except for Star Wars, Secret Saturdays, and Batman; they're shows are moronic. These stupid reality TV are just the latest blunder by them.

I thought they cancelled Naruto to show reruns of 6teen. In any case, an idotic show that ruined a good anime. (I must admit, they would've kept the view rate high if they had just skipped all the filler arcs of Naruto and went straight to Hurricane Chronicles. And of course, 10:30 is a little late for all the kiddies out there. >>)

In any case, I'm stunned. And until I see something better than dA news reporting such, I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope that this is just a hoax. Because the new reality show thing for CN is nothing but junk.

If this turns out to be true, it wouldn't surprise me. It wouldn't be the first time a network made such a foolish business decision.

Let's not forget about a certain other network which noticed it's main demographic was males 18-35, and so added wrestling to its lineup and will soon be changing its name to something that sounds less nerdy, even though it's original niche was science fiction.

This has been flying around on some boards (Adult Swim's the first result when you google :p ) as of late, apparently the person who's saying these things doesn't want to be identified.

Sounds a little silly, but I am convinced the CN execs have their head so far up their asses that this could actually occur. The mentality probably being "well, these are kids, when kids don't do what we want, we punish them, we'll take their cartoons and MAKE them watch our crap!!!!!111"

Network decay, yo. G4, once dedicated only to games, now has one show dedicated to games and games only. The same could happen here.

But at the very least, G4 delivered some decent shows like Ninja Warrior. And there is still X-Play once in a while and the year round E4 review. Whereas CN delivers the same crap time and time again, tweaks it here and there, and acts like it's the 'new hip and stylish thing in their lineup' :disgust: All in all, it fails to deliver 95% of the time.

Still, I will admit that the whole lineup for the future of CN was better than that Re-Animated original movie, followed by the 'Out of Jimmy's Head' series. I watched it and realized by the third or so episode that it was nothing but fail. :|

And a little question: Where in the world does it say in that journal that the new name of Cartoon Network will be Live Action? I read that journal and saw absolutely nothing about Live Action. However, I did see that the new name 'there has been no concrete info on the channel's new name', so I fail to see where that name popped up from, Zeta. 0_0

Nope waiting until there's acual news about this, and I don't trust the source either, Someone's DA journal is'nt the bet place for news.

Like CN is gonna get rid of some of their greatest shows in favor of live action. All their new live action shows except for The Othersiders suck.

I'm not believing this until a reliable source confirms it, but all I can say is this better not be fucking true. Although it wouldn't surprise me at all if it was.

OF ALL THE STUPID, TOTALLY INSANE THINGS THEY COULD DO TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM...

*breathes*

Who do I have to call to tell them that this is a VERY bad idea.

I remain skeptical, but it'd be...interesting...if it happened.

In any case, shit like this is why I don't really watch TV anymore. All the good stuff is gone and replaced with utter crap.

Well, this definitely sounds like typical CN idiocy, but you're right, there is no official word. This would totally suck, though. Not to mention the implications for Pokemon. Who picks them up now? Is there any network that would even be willing to show the dub anymore?

I really hope this isn't true because this is the worst possible situation.

This. If it gets tripped over to Disney XD I will cry.

CN is officially the $3 crack whore of children's programming. I wouldn't be all too surprised if this turned out to be true, what with all the crappy "reality" shows they're pumping out. And here I was thinking that their post-2004 cartoons sucked the big one.
