According to CN's online schedule, the network will go back in time and air reruns of Season 10 (the first DP Season) this Thursday after finishing up its cycle with Sinnoh League Victors.

Additionally, several sources have indicated that after more than a year of Johto reruns, Boomerang will switch things up as well. Starting Monday June 27th, they will air Kanto episodes, Starting with The Problem With Paras.

Why do they always start with "Problem with Paras?" I realize that's the first ep KidsWB got, but why do they never start at the first episode?

It's because 'The Problem with Paras' was a contemporary masterpiece at the time. A much-loved classic from the tail-end of the renaissance age of animation, that saw critical acclaim for it's masterful, fluid and highly artistic animation, as well as a solid script that dealt with thought-provoking themes that only the most intelligent and mature members of the periphery demographic could appreciate.

And Ash got burnt by Charmeleon. Funny.

I thought you were actually going somewhere then. Anyway, Boomerang probably don't own the rights to the first 43 episodes. Or they just can't get off their lazy butts and can't be bothered switch the episode list to the official list. Probably the former reason though.

It could very well be just that. Boomerang and Cartoon Network do not own the rights to air anything before The Problem with Paras. Boomerang and Cartoon Network did not air anything after You're a Star, Larvitar (since this episode concluded the "fifth season" of Pokemon).

I've seen seasons 7 and 8 on Cartoon Network's Migusi before.

Cartoon Network and Boomerang have different episode orders I think, even if they're owned by the same company.

Sweet, maybe its cuz of how well Pokemon Black and White is doing? That gets the best ratings on Cartoon Network.

Cartoon Network and Kids' WB! had a close relationship back in the day, so CN probably gets their episodes from whatever Kids' WB! is now (the CW?). And as far as Kids' WB! is concerned, "The Problem with Paras" is the first episode of the series.

I don't live in usa but
1.it's The CW
2.How will people know the EPIC! kanto storyline from episode 44?

The Kids' WB! version of Season One goes 141 - 152, and then 101 - 140. So all the episodes are there; they're just shown out of order.

ok cartoon network should fixed the order

I seem to remember when Pokemon first aired on CN they showed season 1 in order staring from episode 1.

Yeah, I would've sworn I remember them airing the first few episodes a few years back during early Advance/ late Johto.

It sucks not to start from the beginning.

Needs more AG. Hoenn always gets ignored.

It is weird that they're not starting from episode 1, whatever way they choose. But the Paras episode is one of the first I had ever watched. It was really good either way.

And seeing the main CN go back more than one season is also different. DP was cool, just really slow.

I don't get why they keep rerunning the same episodes either. By now, we've all seen Kanto about a billion times. I realize its the first season and the most memorable to some, but how many times can you watch the same saga?

They should rerun other parts of the anime that people don't remember too much or haven't seen in the first place.
