As you've probably all noticed, the Pokémon with different forms all switch between displaying them at different times. Presently, each of Castform's forms is displayed during one of the seasons (spring:Water, summer:Fire, fall:Normal and winter:Ice) however it has been decided that this is too long. Unfortunately, neither TTE nor I have any idea how long to make it. Any ideas out there?

Just show the normal one, and put the others in a section further down the page?

No, I guess not. That would make too much sense.

I still think the switching images are invasive. x_X All for Martonimos' idea. Except for all of them. You know. 'Cuz.

There's actually only the Normal Sugimori artwork. The only things that change are the type effectiveness tables whch are shown/hidden, the colours of the tables and the moves marked as STAB.

Hmm... yeah, you're right. I guess Castform isn't nearly as bad as the others. But still, is there anything wrong with just sticking to normal type?

My vote's with Mart's suggestion as well.

The random switching isn't a big deal, it's clever, and works nicely on pages with a lot of forms (such as Arceus). But it just feels overdone and unnecessary on guys like Castform.

I would agree with it on Unown, because that actually is random. You never know which letter is going to appear in the Ruins of Alph, so why would you know which one will appear on the BP page?

But the others are different. Castform, Rotom, Arceus, and Deoxys have a "standard" form and then several others; we should show them in their standard form, then have the others elsewhere on the page. Giratina and Shaymin switch back and forth between two forms; I think we should keep them in their default forms, the ones that appear outside of Platinum.

I won't argue that this is a clever bit of coding, and I wish I had the same wizardry TTE had. But I don't think it's necessary.

It's mainly so that those who have different forms don't have to have their infobox have crappy tiny art, and so that we can show off Arceus's eighteen-type flipper without having a spritebox the size of the Moon.

And Unown doesn't have a random form. It's based on the same thing Arceus is: what second the page is cached at. F's in the infobox only because there's somehow no Sugimori art of the other 27.

And Giratina's default Forme is Origin Forme anyway. So that's out. I mean, really, technically, we could make separate pages entirely for each of the forms in the instances of Shaymin, Giratina, and Rotom, and I swear one of the other EP wikis had that at one time.

I've been thinkin', and what I'm thinkin' is that it may be a good time for an overhaul of Project Pokédex. Since it's basically a leaderless project (right?) I guess that I'll take the lead with this one... after all, unlike the other projects, PP covers... every form of Pokémon media.

I said something similair about Project Pokédex in the "Project Leaders" thread a few days ago. If you did want to make seperate pages for all forms, I've had some ideas about that too. But, of courses, it is your call.
