Mega Diancie

Following the release of the latest Mega Dimension trailer, a new Side Mission has been revealed for Pokémon Legends Z-A, "Shine Bright like a Gemstone", which introduces both Diancie and its Mega Stone, the Diancite, to the game.

To start the Side Mission, players must first complete Pokémon Legends Z-A's main story. The Mystery Gift feature can then be used to claim the Diancite. Following this, they can travel to the Looker Bureau and speak to Emma's Partner Pokémon, Mimi the Espurr, who will take a special interest in the Mega Stone. Continue to follow Mimi around Lumiose City, and you will eventually find the Mythical Pokémon Diancie. Battle it, catch it, give it the Diancite to hold, and add Mega Diancie to your team for the first time!

The Side Mission also reveals more information relating to the game and its setting. Spoilers for the Side Mission "Shine Bright like a Gemstone" will be found below.

While following Mimi, Emma will use her Rotom Phone to call Sedna, a character introduced in Pokémon X and Y's post-game as a member of the Lumiose Gang, stating that she and Mimi "might need [her] help" with the current case, before telling them to "let Eris and Nix know too," the two other members of the Lumiose Gang. While these characters never appear in the "Shine Bright like a Gemstone" Side Mission, it could be a teaser for these characters returning in Mega Dimension. In Pokémon X and Y, Sedna's Partner Pokémon is Mandibuzz, Eris uses Pangoro and Bouffalant, and Nix uses Druddigon and Krookodile.
Kyogre Donut
Groudon Donut
The new Side Mission also seems to clarify the origins of Mega Evolution; Emma mentions Professor Sycamore's theory that "Mega Stones formed three thousand years ago" after the firing of the ultimate weapon, and how AZ agreed, expanding on the theory by suggesting "that's why we've been finding new types of Mega Stones recently." AZ is also said to have described "a phenomenon in Hoenn" as "the beginning of all Mega Evolution," likely referring to Primal Reversion. This seems to hint towards Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon returning in the upcoming DLC. Additionally, Ansha, a new character revealed in the latest trailer for Mega Dimension, can make "special donuts" in Pokémon Legends Z-A's DLC, with the two examples given clearly themed around Hoenn's Legendary Pokémon.

Following Diancie's new availability in the game, it has also become available for use in Season 2 of Pokémon Legends Z-A's Ranked Battles.
