Event Bonuses and Activities
The following event bonuses will be active during the Raid Day:
- Increased chance for Trainers to encounter Shiny Gyarados from Raids.
- Trainers will receive up to five additional free Raid Passes (for a total of six) from spinning Gym Photo Discs.
- The Remote Raid limit will be increased to 20 between Saturday August 30th, at 5:00pm and Sunday August 31st, at 8:00pm (PDT).
Trainers can purchase an event-exclusive ticket for US$4.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in each local currency), granting the following additional bonuses between 2:00pm and 5:00pm local time on the day of this event:
- Trainers will be able to receive eight additional Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs (for a daily total of 14)
- Increased chance for Trainers that are Level 31 and up to receive Rare Candy XL from Raid Battles
- 50% more XP will be received from Raid Battles
- 2× Stardust will be received from Raid Battles
Featured Attack
Gyarados encountered in raids during this event will know the Charged Attack Aqua Tail. This attack has 50 power in Gyms & Raids with an Energy cost of 33, a Duration of 1.9 seconds, and a Damage window of 1.2-1.65 seconds. In Trainer Battles, the attack has Power 55 and an Energy cost of 35. Gyarados would normally learn this attack in Pokémon GO only via Elite Charged TM.
Mega Gyarados Raid Day Ultra Ticket Box
A Mega Gyarados Raid Day Ultra Ticket Box will be available for purchase for US$4.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in each local currency). The box includes both an event ticket, and a bonus Premium Battle Pass.
