Roaring Moon with the Mightiest Mark will appear exclusively in 7-star Tera Raid Battles in Pokémon Scarlet, while Iron Valiant will be appearing exclusively in Pokémon Violet. These Pokémon have the Dragon and Fairy Tera Types respectively. Each of these Pokémon can only be caught once per save data. Players who have already caught them from previous Tera Raid events may still participate in additional Tera Raid Battles against them together with other players in order to earn additional battle rewards. The two Paradox Pokémon may appear again in other events, or be encounterable in different ways in the future.
Other version-exclusive Paradox Pokémon will also be appearing more frequently in 5-star Tera Raid Battles during the entire event. Great Tusk, Scream Tail, Brute Bonnet, Flutter Mane, Slither Wing, and Sandy Shocks will appear in 5-star Tera Raid Battles exclusively in Pokémon Scarlet, while Iron Treads, Iron Bundle, Iron Hands, Iron Jugulis, Iron Moth, and Iron Thorns will appear exclusively in Pokémon Violet.
To encounter these Pokémon in Tera Raid Battles, players will need to download the latest Poké Portal News. If players have connected their Nintendo Switch system to the internet while playing Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet, this will happen automatically. Players can also manually download the Poké Portal News by selecting Poké Portal from the X menu, and then selecting Mystery Gift, and then Check Poké Portal News. After that, players who have completed certain post-game events will be able to start the Black Crystal Tera Raid Battle against the Paradox Pokémon for their game version simply by walking up to and interacting with the Black Tera Crystal in-game. 5-star raids for the other Paradox Pokémon meanwhile have no special requirements, and will be accessible simply by up to and interacting with an appropriate Tera Crystal in-game. Players wanting to challenge the Pokémon from the other game version, or who haven't yet completed the required post-game events to access the 7-star raids directly, can still participate in these Tera Raid Battles, but only by joining with other Trainers in multiplayer, such as by using a Link Code. A paid Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to participate in Tera Raid Battles with other Trainers online.
In the overworld, both types of Tera Raids can be differentiated from other Tera Raid crystals when looking at at the map by their special aura and, in the case of the Black Tera Crystals, their black sheen.
