So the last time I was playing Omega Ruby, I had almost every Pokemon that could be obtained by the time I got to Slateport City, and because I like to keep all of my Pokemon, save my starter, at the same level and my starter two levels above everyone else, I always felt obliged to level them all up as soon as my starter did, and let me tell you it was an absolute nightmare. This lead me to believe that I was training too many Pokemon, which is actually pretty ironic as back when I played Platinum I just stuck with only a team of six up until Snowpoint, so this brings me to my question: How can I limit myself on how many Pokemon I catch? If I can get any advice on this, it would be more than helpful.

Uh... don't buy a lot of Pokeballs? go by Nuzlocke rules? Not sure what to say besides... don't catch so many.

Well, you may have to change your own personal rule to something less time consuming. Perhaps you can choose what your main six team will be and focus on them. Since all your pokemon sound to be around the same level you've given yourself a lot of nice options. You can also pick out a secondary team which can consist of HM based pokemon so that your main team doesn't have to waste move slots. You can also train some extra pokemon who's typings you don't have on your main team which could be used as a substitute for battles where you would normally have a type disadvantage.

You can also exclude training pokemon you've already trained in previous games, since you already know what it's like to use those. You can focus on training the pokemon you really like and plan on using later on if you like doing wifi battles or the Battle Mason. You can also save the idea of training every pokemon for post game play, while waiting for the next game to come out. Or if you are just focused of completing the Pokedex, you can just focus on pokemon that evolve, and once they've evolved you can leave them be for another time.

I may end up taking your advice on that, would keeping them within a four level range of each other work?

Possibly, 4 levels shouldn't be too drastic in stats.

Alright, thank you!

Wow, I used a completely different word then I meant to. I meant "drastic in stats" not "distracted". Anyway you were smart enough to realized what I meant, so thank you and good luck.
