I was wondering what other people do when they go for the One Off Pokemon, eg. Legendary Pokemon.

On Platinum I have have decided to try and get some good Natured One Offs, but every other game I have played I have just caught it and boxed it. I was not to fussed by anything more than having it. I think this time I have gone for it as more of a challenge, depending on how long it starts to take that is! There would only be a few that I would use anyway, so maybe it isn't worth doing.

So, what about you guys?

the only time that i went for a good nature is when i had a master ball, then it would take me about am minute to catch it, check its nature and restart.

as for other legendaries, for some reason i always start with an ice move, i was always under the impression that a pokemon on one health whos frozen would be incredibly easy to catch. but i used to have a scizor with false swipe, so i'd use that and my breloom with spore :)

My main priority is to catch the things and put them in the SPECIAL box. I don't need them to have good natures or whatever, they're just novelty Pokemon.

For some reason, though, all my Dialga have +Special Attack natures. A complete coincidence! It DID make training my Dialga in Diamond a blast, I love Special Sweepers.

I typically don't catch Pokemon at all unless I plan on seriously training them (i.e. good natures, IVs, EVs). Legendaries are pretty annoying since they're usually difficult to catch and you can't breed them, but I still do my best.

What about both good natures and shiny? D:

...Although I've never bothered to soft-reset for a shiny before, I still have a bunch of the one-offs saved on Platinum for that.

I just catch the thing and either box it or use it ingame. Obviously if I see a shiny I'm going to master ball it.

I had been just catching to fill up my pokedex, but I may start soft-resetting for some shinies. I'm also not a battler, so I tend to not care as much about the natures.

Using legendaries in the team feels so lame nowadays, so I catch them only to fill up my 'dex.

Unless it can be used in competitave battles...lake trio etc... I just catch it or go for good natures. This is only if I can catch it easily enough.

Picky? I typically like integrating my legendary Pokémon into my overall lineup, with some on certain core teams I've devised. Any natures I like I consider to be a bonus with each catch.
